Miracle Doctor Chapter 921
Ye Qiu’s hand trembled, nearly dropping the phone to the floor, as his mind conjured up Lin Jingzhi’s strikingly beautiful image, his heart racing with excitement.
Ding!
Another message arrived on his phone.
“Darling, come find me quickly, I’m so lonely, so empty, I need you so much…”
Ye Qiu couldn’t hold back any longer, hurriedly knocking on the door, singing as he did, “Little bunny, be good, open the door quick, open it fast, I want to come in…”
Snap!
The office door opened a crack, but it wasn’t Lin Jingzhi he saw—it was Sun Mengjie.
Sun Mengjie stood in the doorway, her face cold as she snapped at Ye Qiu, “What’s with all the shouting!”
“Don’t you know loud noises aren’t allowed here?”
“Keep this up, and I’ll make sure reception doesn’t let you in next time.”
“Why so angry?” Ye Qiu looked at Sun Mengjie’s frosty expression, chuckling as he asked, “Did you get dumped?”
“No, wait, men usually prefer gentle kittens, not tigresses.”
“Mengjie, take some brotherly advice, once a woman reaches a certain age, she needs a boyfriend, otherwise, too much pent-up anger isn’t good for your health.”
Sun Mengjie’s eyes widened, “Who are you calling a tigress?”
“Where’s Sister Lin? I’m here for Sister Lin,” Ye Qiu said.
Hmph!
Sun Mengjie let out a cold snort, glaring at Ye Qiu before turning and walking away.
“Sister Lin, I’m here—”
Ye Qiu shouted, pushing open the office door, but the next second, his smile froze.
Inside Lin Jingzhi’s office, over a dozen pairs of eyes stared at him, all belonging to the company’s top executives, their expressions as if they were watching a monkey.
Sun Mengjie smirked, clearly delighted to see Ye Qiu make a fool of himself.
Was Sister Lin in a meeting?
Careless!
Ye Qiu turned to leave, but Sun Mengjie said with a smile, “You’re here now, why leave?”
This tigress clearly wanted to see him humiliated.
Ye Qiu quickly composed himself, turning to wave at everyone with a smile, “Hello, everyone!”
If I’m not embarrassed, you are.
Everyone knew about Ye Qiu’s relationship with Lin Jingzhi, so when he greeted them, they hurriedly smiled back.
“Mr. Ye, hello.”
“Mr. Ye, hello.”
“…”
“Carry on with your meeting, don’t mind me,” Ye Qiu said, heading toward the guest room.
“Ye Qiu,” Lin Jingzhi called, beckoning him over.
Ye Qiu walked to her side.
Lin Jingzhi said to Sun Mengjie, who was sitting beside her, “Xiao Jie, get Ye Qiu a glass of water.”
Why should I get water for this jerk?
Sun Mengjie was annoyed, but since Lin Jingzhi had given the order, she had to comply.
As she stood, she heard Lin Jingzhi say to Ye Qiu, “Sit here.”
And just like that, Ye Qiu took Sun Mengjie’s seat.
Seeing this, Sun Mengjie fumed, gritting her teeth and shooting Ye Qiu a vicious glare.
Not only stealing Sister Lin, but my seat too—this grudge is irreconcilable, just you wait!
Cursing inwardly, Sun Mengjie didn’t get Ye Qiu any water, instead finding an empty seat to sit in.
“Alright, let’s continue the meeting, where were we?” Lin Jingzhi asked.
“President Lin, we were discussing the company’s plans for the next quarter,” a vice president reminded her.
“Right, you all mentioned a lot about the next quarter’s plans, and I think our focus should not only be on investments but also on starting new ventures,” Lin Jingzhi said, “I’m planning to enter the medical aesthetics industry, any thoughts?”
The executives shared their opinions:
“President Lin, while the medical aesthetics market is booming, the competition is fierce, we’ve never done this before, entering rashly carries huge risks.”
“Exactly, we have no experience in this market, we need to be cautious.”
“President Lin, I suggest you reconsider.”
“…”
Most of the executives were opposed.
“Xiao Jie, what do you think?” Lin Jingzhi asked Sun Mengjie.
Sun Mengjie said, “With societal progress, people’s living standards are rising, and both women and men are increasingly focused on beauty, there’s no doubt the medical aesthetics industry has great potential.”
“I’m in favor of President Lin’s plan to enter medical aesthetics, but we must have a product that’s recognized by the market.”
“No matter the company, profitability depends on products.”
“Our product needs to be effective and stand out in the market, ideally building a brand like Estée Lauder’s Crème de la Mer, SK-II’s Fairy Water, Shiseido’s Red Elixir, or Lancôme’s Little Black Bottle.”
“But developing a product is costly, the timeline for development is uncertain, and its effectiveness needs market validation, both time and R&D costs are high, so I suggest we hold off on entering the medical aesthetics industry.”
After her lengthy speech, Sun Mengjie’s conclusion was also opposition.
Lin Jingzhi frowned slightly and asked Ye Qiu, “What about you?”
Ye Qiu smiled, “I support you.”
Lin Jingzhi gave a slight smile, knowing Ye Qiu would back her unconditionally.
Sun Mengjie raised an eyebrow, “Lip service is useless, entering medical aesthetics requires a product.”
“Products aren’t an issue,” Ye Qiu said, scanning the room, “You all know I’m a doctor, right?”
Everyone nodded.
Ye Qiu continued, “I have an ancient formula for scar removal, highly effective, regular scars can be gone in three days, severe ones in a week at most.”
What?
The executives were thrilled.
If it was that effective, once produced, it would surely make a fortune.
Ye Qiu added, “And the R&D costs are low, probably just a few million.”
The executives were already sold.
Sun Mengjie scoffed, “Talk is cheap, where’s the product?”
Ye Qiu ignored her, asking Lin Jingzhi, “Do you trust me?”
“Of course,” Lin Jingzhi said, “Everyone, prepare to establish a medical aesthetics company, and start product development soon.”
“President Lin…” Sun Mengjie tried to urge caution, but Lin Jingzhi cut her off with a commanding tone, “Meeting adjourned!”
Everyone filed out of the conference room.
Only Sun Mengjie remained seated, having worked with Lin Jingzhi for so long, she knew why Lin Jingzhi ended the meeting so abruptly.
“Why aren’t you leaving?” Lin Jingzhi asked.
Sun Mengjie said, “President Lin, I have some work matters to report.”
“No need, go out.”
“But…”
“Out!” Lin Jingzhi’s tone grew stern.
Feeling wronged, Sun Mengjie glared at Ye Qiu before reluctantly leaving the conference room.
Only Lin Jingzhi and Ye Qiu remained.
Lin Jingzhi said, “Darling, I want some milk.”
“I’ll get you some,” Ye Qiu said, starting to stand.
Lin Jingzhi quickly pulled him back, sitting on his lap, her arms wrapping around his neck as she said seductively, “I want the 37-degree, pure, natural, additive-free kind!”
Miracle Doctor Chapter 922
Among Ye Qiu’s several close confidantes, he most enjoyed spending time with Lin Jingzhi.
In his presence, Lin Jingzhi never threw tantrums or lost her temper, always compliant and occasionally surprising him, a single glance or a few words enough to set his blood racing.
Being with her was both relaxing and joyful.
Hearing Lin Jingzhi’s words, Ye Qiu couldn’t hold back, quickly leaning down to kiss her.
Lin Jingzhi closed her eyes, ready to be swept away.
The moment was perfect.
“Knock knock!”
A sudden knock at the door interrupted them.
“Who is it?” Lin Jingzhi called out.
“President Lin, it’s me,” came Sun Mengjie’s voice from outside.
“What’s the matter?” Lin Jingzhi asked.
Sun Mengjie said, “I forgot my meeting notes in the conference room earlier.”
Lin Jingzhi looked up and saw a laptop on the conference table.
“Hold on.”
She got up from Ye Qiu’s embrace and said, “Come in and get it.”
The door opened, and Sun Mengjie stepped inside, casting a quick glance at Lin Jingzhi and Ye Qiu before grabbing the laptop and leaving.
Lin Jingzhi returned to Ye Qiu’s lap, cooing, “Darling, did you miss me?”
“I did,” Ye Qiu nodded.
“Where did you miss me?” she pressed.
“Everywhere,” Ye Qiu replied.
“Really?” Lin Jingzhi smiled, “I heard from Bai Bing that you brought two young beauties home— are you involved with them?”
“Bing Jie told you about that?” Ye Qiu thought to himself, Bai Bing’s even started tattling, looks like I need to deal with her later.
Lin Jingzhi laughed, “When Bai Bing told me, her tone was so sour, clearly jealous.”
Ye Qiu said, “It’s nothing, really, just two colleagues…”
Before he could finish, Lin Jingzhi pressed a finger to his lips, saying, “I know you, no need to explain. Besides, I’m not petty, if you really like them, I won’t mind.”
Ye Qiu said gratefully, “Sister Lin, thank you.”
“You know I don’t care for verbal thanks—I prefer actions,” Lin Jingzhi gazed at him with her captivating eyes, their depths shimmering.
Ye Qiu instantly understood, leaning down to kiss her deeply.
They kissed passionately, lost in the moment.
“Knock knock!”
Another knock at the door shattered the mood.
Both in the office were visibly annoyed.
“Who?” Lin Jingzhi asked, holding back her anger.
“President Lin, it’s Xiao Zheng from admin, I have a document for you to sign,” a female voice said.
“Go to Sun Mengjie, let her sign it,” Lin Jingzhi replied.
“I already asked Assistant Sun, she said only you can sign this one.”
“Come back tomorrow.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
After Xiao Zheng left, Lin Jingzhi wrapped her arms around Ye Qiu’s neck, smiling, “Darling, let’s continue.”
“Mm…”
Knock knock knock!
The door was knocked on again.
“President Lin, it’s Xiao Li from finance, I have last quarter’s financial report for you to review.”
“Come back tomorrow.”
No sooner had Lin Jingzhi spoken than another knock followed, “President Lin, it’s Old Zhao from logistics, I made a plan for this month’s supply purchases, could you take a look?”
Knock knock knock…
More knocking.
One after another, over a dozen knocks in succession.
Lin Jingzhi’s good mood was utterly ruined, and she said angrily, “What’s wrong with these people? They’re never around usually, why are they all coming to me today?”
Ye Qiu narrowed his eyes, clearly someone was deliberately disrupting his and Lin Jingzhi’s private moment.
He didn’t need to guess who it was—he knew.
Activating his clairvoyance, he glanced outside, his vision piercing the wall, and saw Sun Mengjie standing in the corridor, holding a coffee, looking smug.
“Clear out the people outside Sister Lin’s office immediately, or I’ll have you fired on the spot.”
Ye Qiu’s voice rang abruptly in Sun Mengjie’s ear.
Sun Mengjie jumped, startled like a frightened mouse, looking around but seeing no sign of Ye Qiu, her face full of confusion.
“Are you deaf? I said clear out the people outside Sister Lin’s office.”
Using his secret voice transmission, Ye Qiu continued.
This time, Sun Mengjie heard clearly, certain it was Ye Qiu, but still unable to see him, she asked, “Where are you?”
Ye Qiu said, “Never mind where I am, Sun Mengjie, you have five seconds, if you don’t shoo those flies away, I’ll come to your room tonight and deal with you myself.”
“Bastard!”
Sun Mengjie muttered a curse, then said to the crowd at Lin Jingzhi’s door, “Everyone, go back, come find President Lin tomorrow.”
Old Zhao from logistics looked puzzled, “Assistant Sun, you called us here, why are you sending us away now?”
So it was her scheming.
Ye Qiu shot Sun Mengjie a cold glance.
In that instant, Sun Mengjie felt a chill, as if she were standing naked.
“President Lin is handling important matters, go back,” Sun Mengjie said sternly.
The crowd finally dispersed.
In the office, seeing Lin Jingzhi’s displeasure, Ye Qiu said, “Sister Lin, let’s continue, no one will disturb us now.”
Lin Jingzhi walked over, locked the office door, and said, “If anyone knocks again, just ignore them, they can’t get in.”
Then, nestling back into Ye Qiu’s arms, she said guiltily, “Darling, I feel a bit ashamed, after you became the Medical Saint, I haven’t even congratulated you, and now I need your help with something.”
Ye Qiu, puzzled, asked, “What’s that?”
“I don’t know how to say it,” Lin Jingzhi’s stunning face was filled with unease.
It was the first time Ye Qiu had seen her like this, and he said nervously, “Sister Lin, just tell me, if I can do it…”
Before he could finish, Lin Jingzhi uttered two words, “Relieve itching!”
What?
It took Ye Qiu three seconds to process, then he lifted Lin Jingzhi and placed her on the conference table.
(The author’s description here was too detailed and has been omitted.)
…
The next day.
Eight in the morning.
Ye Qiu and Master Longbrow set off from Jiangzhou, taking a flight to the Northeast.
Three hours later.
As soon as Ye Qiu stepped off the plane, his phone rang.
Bzz bzz bzz…
He pulled out his phone and saw the caller ID, Tang Fei.
Answering the call, Ye Qiu asked, “Old Tang, what’s up?”
“Ye Qiu, are you free these couple of days?” Tang Fei asked.
“What’s going on?”
“I’d like you to come to the Northeast.”
Ye Qiu was a bit surprised, he had just arrived in the Northeast, and now Tang Fei was asking him to come, what a coincidence.
He knew Tang Fei must be in some trouble, otherwise he wouldn’t have reached out.
Ye Qiu asked quickly, “Are you in some kind of trouble?”
“Yeah,” Tang Fei grunted, saying gravely, “Something strange has come up in Changbai Mountain.”
Miracle Doctor Chapter 923
“Something strange?”
Ye Qiu quickly asked, “What kind of strange thing? Tell me more.”
Tang Fei said, “I can’t explain it in a few words, you’ll see when you get to Changbai Mountain. By the way, Ye Qiu, are you free these days to come to the Northeast?”
Ye Qiu replied, “I’m already in the Northeast.”
“Oh?” Tang Fei was surprised, “Did the War God contact you?”
“The War God didn’t reach out, I’m here for something else,” Ye Qiu said, “Old Tang, send me the exact location, I’ll come with the old man.”
“Master Longbrow is here too? That’s great, maybe he can help with this,” Tang Fei said, then asked, “Where are you now?”
“We just got off the plane, still at the airport,” Ye Qiu said.
“Wait there, I’ll send someone to pick you up,” Tang Fei said before hanging up.
Master Longbrow asked, “Tang Fei’s call? What’s he want?”
Ye Qiu didn’t hide anything, “Tang Fei ran into something weird at Changbai Mountain and wants us to help.”
Changbai Mountain?
Hearing Ye Qiu’s words, a flicker of unease passed through Master Longbrow’s eyes, gone in an instant.
“Old man, our destination this trip is Changbai Mountain, and now Tang Fei says something strange is happening there—could this be related to the big thing you’re planning?” Ye Qiu said, a bit worried.
“Doesn’t matter, let’s head to Changbai Mountain and see what’s going on,” Master Longbrow said. The unease in his eyes earlier stemmed from concern that Tang Fei’s strange issue might interfere with his plans.
They waited outside the airport for twenty minutes.
Twenty minutes later, a jeep with military plates pulled up in front of them. The driver was a young man in camouflage.
“Mr. Ye, Taoist Master, I’m here to pick you up on the commander’s orders. Please get in.”
The young man opened the back door.
“Thanks,” Ye Qiu said, and he and Master Longbrow got into the jeep, leaving the airport.
The vehicle moved forward.
Ye Qiu asked, “How long does it take to get to Changbai Mountain from here?”
“Not long,” the driver said, keeping his eyes on the road, “About two hours, I’d say.”
Two hours, and you call that not long?
Master Longbrow nudged Ye Qiu with his elbow. Ye Qiu glanced at him and saw Longbrow winking.
Catching on, Ye Qiu asked the driver, “Tang Fei told me you encountered something really strange at Changbai Mountain—is that true?”
“Yeah,” the driver’s face grew serious.
“Tell me about it.”
“Sorry, Mr. Ye, without the commander’s orders, I can’t disclose anything.”
Master Longbrow snapped at the driver, “Kid, what’s wrong with you? Don’t you know Ye Qiu is with the Underworld Palace? His rank is way above yours.”
The driver apologized, “Sorry, the commander ordered that this matter can’t be shared with anyone.”
“If you want to know, you can ask the commander directly when we reach the camp.”
“Please understand.”
“You—” Master Longbrow was about to scold him again, but Ye Qiu stopped him.
“Forget it, you know the Underworld Palace’s rules, don’t make it hard for him,” Ye Qiu said.
Hmph!
Master Longbrow let out a cold snort, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes to rest.
Ye Qiu, however, was deep in thought. Though the driver hadn’t revealed specifics, the fact that Tang Fei had ordered secrecy suggested the strange event at Changbai Mountain was no small matter.
What could be so bizarre that Tang Fei needed him to step in?
Couldn’t the Underworld Palace’s people handle it?
Ye Qiu’s curiosity grew.
The jeep pressed on.
Half an hour later, it left the city and entered a mountain path.
Both sides of the road were lined with vibrant wildflowers, a beautiful sight since few vehicles passed through.
Gradually, an endless range of mountains came into view.
Looking up, the mountains were covered in lush trees, their leaves green, yellow, or red, glowing under the sunlight, the forest stretching like an unfurled painting, boundless and breathtaking.
Ye Qiu felt his spirits lift.
At that moment, Master Longbrow, who had been resting, opened his eyes, glanced out the window, and pointed at the distant mountains, saying, “That’s Changbai Mountain.”
“Changbai Mountain is one of China’s ten famous mountains and a dragon vein.”
“The Qing dynasty’s royal family even revered it as a ‘sacred mountain,’ and emperors like Kangxi, Qianlong, and Jiaqing personally visited to offer sacrifices.”
“Not only is this mountain vast, but it’s also full of treasures and steeped in mystery.”
The driver chimed in, “The Taoist Master is right, there are indeed many treasures in the mountains, like century-old ginseng, lingzhi, and Northeast tigers. By the way, have you two heard about the Golden City?”
A glint flashed in Master Longbrow’s eyes, but it quickly faded.
Ye Qiu asked, “What’s the Golden City?”
The driver said, “When I was a kid, the village elders told stories about a city made of gold hidden in Changbai Mountain, priceless. In the early days of the People’s Republic, the government sent an archaeological team into the mountains to find it.”
“But in the end, not one person from the team came back—neither seen alive nor dead.”
“No one ever confirmed if the Golden City was real or not.”
“For a while, the village was buzzing with talk. Some said Changbai Mountain is a dragon vein guarded by divine spirits, others claimed there was a Yellow Immortal with immense power that devoured the team. People said all sorts of things.”
“Later, part of Changbai Mountain became a scenic area, but most of it was designated as a restricted zone, guarded by patrol teams, off-limits to outsiders.”
“First, to protect the pristine forest from destruction, second, to stop poachers from hunting rare animals, and third, for public safety.”
Master Longbrow asked, “No one’s looking for the Golden City now, right?”
“No, it’s just a legend, and with the archaeological team vanishing, who’d dare go?” the driver said, “Changbai Mountain is vast and sparsely populated, and with all the old tales, it’s cloaked in mystery.”
“Like a couple of years ago, someone claimed a monster appeared in Tianchi Lake. The story spread, and newspapers and media went wild, with people camping by the lake waiting for the monster, but no one’s actually seen it.”
Ye Qiu asked, “This strange event you’re dealing with, is it in the restricted area of Changbai Mountain?”
“Uh…” The driver hesitated, then said, “Mr. Ye, you’d better ask the commander when we get there, we’re almost at the camp.”
The jeep continued on.
Over an hour later, the driver said, “We’re here,” and the jeep came to a stop.
Miracle Doctor Chapter 924
Ye Qiu got out of the jeep and saw several military-green tents set up in the nearby forest.
Around the tents, a few soldiers with rifles were patrolling.
“Where’s Tang Fei?” Ye Qiu asked.
“I’ll get the commander,” the driver said, but just as he was about to go, Tang Fei emerged from a tent with a few soldiers.
Tang Fei, in military uniform, looked spirited.
“Ye Qiu!”
Tang Fei called out, striding over and greeting Master Longbrow, “Greetings, Master.”
“No need for formalities,” Master Longbrow said, “I heard from the kid you ran into trouble, tell us about it.”
Tang Fei replied, “It’s a bit strange, how about I take you to the scene?”
Ye Qiu nodded, “Alright.”
Tang Fei led Ye Qiu and Master Longbrow up the mountain on foot, with several soldiers trailing behind.
Along the way, ancient trees towered overhead.
Some trees looked centuries old, thicker than washbasins.
As Ye Qiu walked, he noticed signs reading “Forest Protection, No Logging” and “Restricted Area, No Entry.”
“Is this the restricted zone of Changbai Mountain?” Ye Qiu asked Tang Fei.
Tang Fei shook his head, “Not yet, we’ll enter the restricted zone soon.”
They climbed to the mountainside.
Ye Qiu saw a three-meter-high barbed wire fence, equipped with surveillance cameras and high-voltage electricity.
“The restricted zone is behind the fence,” Tang Fei said, leading them along the fence for a while.
Soon, Ye Qiu spotted two men in police uniforms standing guard by the fence, where a large section had been cut open.
“Commander!” the two men saluted upon seeing Tang Fei.
“Good work,” Tang Fei returned a salute, then pointed to the gap in the fence, saying to Ye Qiu and Master Longbrow, “The restricted zone is beyond this, the incident site is still a bit further, about ten minutes from here.”
So, the strange event occurred inside the restricted zone.
“Let’s go,” Ye Qiu said.
Tang Fei nodded, stepping through the gap in the fence first.
Ye Qiu and Master Longbrow followed, with the soldiers staying close, scanning their surroundings as they moved.
The so-called restricted zone was just a deep, old forest.
After a few minutes, Ye Qiu let out a surprised, “Huh?” and stopped, saying, “Such a strong smell of blood.”
Master Longbrow closed his eyes, sniffed, and said, “I smell it too.”
Tang Fei, seemingly unsurprised, said, “The further we go, the stronger the smell gets.”
Ye Qiu asked, “Did someone die?”
Tang Fei sighed, “If it was just a death, I wouldn’t have bothered you, I know you’re busy. I had no choice but to call you, I’ve been with the Underworld Palace for years, seen all sorts of strange things, but something this bizarre is a first.”
Master Longbrow asked, “What exactly happened?”
“Don’t worry, Master, you’ll see soon,” Tang Fei said, continuing to lead the way.
Ten minutes later, Ye Qiu saw another military tent, with four armed soldiers patrolling around it.
Additionally, he noticed an old man with a scruffy beard and messy hair, sitting on a rock, smoking a pipe, looking weathered, likely in his sixties or seventies.
Hearing footsteps, the four soldiers turned quickly, their alertness easing when they saw Tang Fei.
“Any new developments?” Tang Fei asked as he approached.
“Report, Commander, no new developments, all normal,” a soldier replied loudly.
“Good,” Tang Fei said, pointing ahead, “Ye Qiu, Master, look.”
Ye Qiu looked and saw seven pine trees.
Each tree was as thick as a dining table, their trunks like barrels, but suddenly, Ye Qiu’s gaze sharpened.
One pine tree’s trunk was oozing bright red blood, heavy with a pungent smell.
Clearly, the bloody odor they’d sensed came from this tree.
“Old man, look at that pine tree, its trunk is bleeding,” Ye Qiu said, shocked.
“I see it,” Master Longbrow said, expressionless, asking Tang Fei, “Anyone dead?”
“Yeah,” Tang Fei confirmed, “A patrol team member noticed the tree bleeding, went to check, and then died.”
“Cause of death?” Ye Qiu asked.
Tang Fei said, “I had a military doctor examine him, they said it looked like poisoning, but couldn’t identify the specific toxin.”
“Where’s the body?” Ye Qiu asked.
“In the tent,” Tang Fei replied.
“I’ll check the body,” Ye Qiu said, striding into the tent.
At that moment, the old man smoking the pipe glanced at Ye Qiu and Master Longbrow, then resumed smoking.
Ye Qiu noticed the old man’s glance but didn’t dwell on it, entering the tent.
Inside, he saw a male corpse on the ground.
The man, about forty, had dark skin and a muscular build.
Ye Qiu examined him, noting thick calluses on the right palm and thumb, saying, “He probably handled guns a lot.”
Tang Fei explained, “The deceased was part of the local patrol team, they’re all equipped with hunting rifles.”
Ye Qiu continued inspecting, finding no external injuries but noticing the body covered in green, centipede-like patterns.
Grabbing the man’s wrist to check the pulse, Ye Qiu asked Tang Fei, “Who’s the old man outside?”
“He’s Uncle Mountain Guard,” Tang Fei said.
Ye Qiu instantly understood, asking, “He’s with the patrol team too?”
“Yeah,” Tang Fei said, “Uncle Mountain Guard’s family has lived in Changbai Mountain for generations, before the patrol team existed, his elders were mountain guardians. When the team was formed, he became its captain.”
“Uncle Mountain Guard has worked with the patrol team for over fifty years, he knows this area well.”
“The deceased was his nephew, and Uncle Mountain Guard was there when he died.”
“Since he’s the team captain and a witness, I didn’t let him leave.”
“Oh,” Ye Qiu said lightly, releasing the wrist, “The deceased died from poisoning.”
“What kind of poison?” Tang Fei asked urgently.
Ye Qiu said two words, “Corpse poison!”
Miracle Doctor Chapter 925
“Corpse poison?”
Tang Fei froze, then said, “That’s impossible. I asked Uncle Mountain Guard, and he said the man only touched the bleeding pine tree before he died, nothing like a corpse.”
Ye Qiu said, “Based on my diagnosis, he died from corpse poison, and not just any kind—it’s from an ancient corpse.”
“An ancient corpse?” Tang Fei was still incredulous, “How could that be?”
Master Longbrow said, “The kid’s medical skills are renowned, his diagnosis is never wrong.”
Tang Fei frowned, “Could Uncle Mountain Guard have hidden something from me?”
Ye Qiu said, “Let’s go ask him.”
The three walked out of the tent.
“Uncle Mountain Guard!” Tang Fei waved him over.
Uncle Mountain Guard tapped his pipe on the rock to extinguish it, then ambled over, showing yellowed teeth as he asked, “Commander, you called?”
Tang Fei asked, “Uncle Mountain Guard, do you know how your nephew died?”
Uncle Mountain Guard said, “Didn’t I already tell you?”
Tang Fei explained, “Here’s the thing, I’ve brought two friends to investigate, and they’d like to hear how your nephew died. Could you repeat it?”
Uncle Mountain Guard glanced at Ye Qiu and Master Longbrow, saying, “My nephew and I were on the patrol team, our daily job is to patrol this forest. But this time, when we got here, we found a pine tree bleeding.”
“I’d never seen anything so strange, so I said we should report it and let the higher-ups send someone to check.”
“My nephew was diligent, he wanted to figure out the cause before reporting, but as soon as he stepped toward the pine tree, he collapsed and stopped breathing.”
Uncle Mountain Guard sighed deeply, “In his forties, not even married, and just gone like that, alas…”
Ye Qiu’s eyes narrowed, then he said kindly, “Uncle, I hear you’re very familiar with this area?”
Uncle Mountain Guard replied, “Sure am, been with the patrol team for decades, patrolling the mountains every day, I know it like the back of my hand.”
Ye Qiu asked, “Uncle Mountain Guard, if I’m not mistaken, this is the restricted zone, right?”
“Yes,” Uncle Mountain Guard nodded.
“I saw signs outside forbidding unauthorized entry, so since this is a restricted zone, how did you and your nephew end up here?”
At Ye Qiu’s words, Uncle Mountain Guard’s expression darkened slightly.
“Yeah, how did you get in here?” Tang Fei realized, saying, “I recall the patrol team has strict rules, you’re only allowed to patrol outside the restricted zone, not enter it.”
“Well…” Uncle Mountain Guard’s eyes darted, “Here’s what happened, while patrolling, we heard noises from the restricted zone, worried about poachers, so we came in.”
“We were just doing our job, after all, our family’s lived in Changbai Mountain for generations, we can’t let criminals ruin it.”
“Commander, we entered without permission, that’s on us, I’ll go to the higher-ups later and ask for punishment…”
“Enough, drop the act,” Ye Qiu cut him off, asking, “Tell me, what’s your real reason for being here?”
Uncle Mountain Guard said, “What else could it be? To stop poachers, of course.”
Heh…
Ye Qiu gave a cold laugh, “Old man, don’t think you can fool us.”
“You should know where we’re from, deceiving us has serious consequences.”
“I’m advising you, come clean and you’ll get leniency, resist and it’ll be worse.”
“I asked you those questions to give you a chance to make amends, but if you keep stonewalling, don’t blame me.”
Ye Qiu’s voice turned icy, a chill radiating from him.
As he finished, Master Longbrow spoke up, “Old man, you’re here to dig up a tomb, aren’t you?”
Whoa!
Uncle Mountain Guard’s head snapped up, staring at Master Longbrow in shock.
Seeing his reaction, Master Longbrow smiled, “Wondering how I knew there’s a tomb here?”
“Those seven pine trees, each centuries old, if you look closely, they’re arranged in the pattern of the Big Dipper.”
Ye Qiu and Tang Fei turned to look, and sure enough, the seven pine trees matched the Big Dipper’s layout.
“In feng shui, stone is the bone of the mountain, soil its flesh, water its veins, and vegetation its skin, look at the mountain range behind the pines, stretching endlessly, vibrant with life.”
“There must be a grand tomb here.”
Master Longbrow looked at Uncle Mountain Guard, smiling, “Am I right?”
“Who are you?” Uncle Mountain Guard asked.
Master Longbrow flicked his whisk, exuding an air of mysticism, and declared, “Infinite Heavenly Venerate, I am the head of Dragon Tiger Mountain, known as Longbrow.”
“You’re the third-ranked Longbrow Master on the Dragon List?” Uncle Mountain Guard was stunned.
“Oh, you’ve heard of me?”
Before Master Longbrow finished, Uncle Mountain Guard spun around and bolted into the forest with a whoosh.
“Running? Hmph!”
Ye Qiu snorted coldly, his body blurring into an afterimage, catching up in an instant.
Uncle Mountain Guard was shocked, one Longbrow Master was terrifying enough, but Ye Qiu’s skills were even more frightening.
Uncle Mountain Guard was no slouch, comparable to a Dragon List expert, he lunged forward, grabbing a tree trunk, swinging like on a trapeze, leaping to another tree, moving like an agile ape despite his age.
In a few bounds, he escaped far.
“Think you can get away? Naive.”
Standing on the ground, Ye Qiu raised his hand, unleashing a sword qi.
Swoosh!
The sharp sword qi flashed thirty meters away, grazing Uncle Mountain Guard’s ear.
Ye Qiu only wanted to capture him, not kill, otherwise, that sword qi could’ve pierced his skull.
Uncle Mountain Guard, desperate to escape, used his familiarity with the forest, darting another几十 meters.
Ye Qiu, now angry, shot forward like the wind, closing the gap in just two seconds.
“Swoosh!”
Ye Qiu’s fingertip released a Six Meridians Divine Sword qi, this time slicing off a piece of Uncle Mountain Guard’s scalp.
Terrified, Uncle Mountain Guard leaped, reaching for another tree trunk, but another sword qi struck.
“Pfft!”
The sword qi left a bloody hole in the back of his hand, and Uncle Mountain Guard fell to the ground.
“Bang!”
Ye Qiu stepped forward, pinning Uncle Mountain Guard’s throat with his foot.
Miracle Doctor Chapter 926
Uncle Shoushan’s throat was pinned under Ye Qiu’s foot, making it hard to breathe, his old face flushed red.
“Still running?” Ye Qiu asked coldly.
“No more running, no more running,” Uncle Shoushan said.
Only then did Ye Qiu lift his foot from Uncle Shoushan’s throat.
As Uncle Shoushan tried to get up, Ye Qiu suddenly stomped on his chest with a loud “bang.”
Pfft!
Uncle Shoushan spat out a mouthful of blood.
Ye Qiu shouted, “If you don’t want to die, confess honestly.”
“I’ll confess, I’ll confess,” Uncle Shoushan said, not daring to resist. He knew if he didn’t confess, Ye Qiu would really kill him.
“What are you doing here?” Ye Qiu asked.
Uncle Shoushan replied, “There’s a legendary ancient tomb under seven pine trees.”
Ye Qiu glanced at Master Longbrow, who had guessed correctly. He asked Uncle Shoushan, “What kind of ancient tomb?”
Uncle Shoushan said, “I don’t know whose tomb it is exactly. I only know it’s a massive tomb, at least of a noble or prince, with many burial treasures.”
“How did you know?” Ye Qiu asked.
Uncle Shoushan said, “I grew up at the foot of Changbai Mountain. My grandfather told me there are many treasures in the mountains, besides century-old ginseng, there are also many ancient tombs.”
“Before the founding of the country, many tomb raiders came here and looted quite a few tombs.”
“As for this legendary tomb, I learned about it from a tomb raider.”
“Not long ago, a tomb raider came to rob a tomb. He got bitten by a venomous snake as soon as he entered the mountain. My nephew and I were patrolling and came across him.”
“The tomb raider claimed to be a herb collector. We didn’t think much of it since many people come to Changbai Mountain from all over the country to gather herbs every year.”
“My nephew and I took the tomb raider home to treat him, but the snake venom was too strong. Before the village doctor arrived, he passed away.”
“Before he died, the tomb raider revealed his identity, saying he was a tomb raider with no family, alone in the world. He hoped we’d bury him after his death. In return, he told us there’s a place in the forbidden area with seven pine trees, and under them lies a legendary ancient tomb.”
“He said it’s filled with burial treasures, enough to last us several lifetimes.”
“I had no intention of tomb raiding. At my age, there’s no need to take such risks. If I got caught, I’d spend the rest of my days in prison.”
“But my nephew wouldn’t listen. He insisted on tomb raiding. I can’t blame him, though. His family is too poor. He’s over forty and still hasn’t married. If he doesn’t get some money to marry, his family line will end.”
“Seeing my nephew’s determination, I had no choice but to join him in this risky venture.”
Ye Qiu sneered inwardly. This old man wanted to raid the tomb himself but was now pushing the blame onto a dead man, utterly shameless.
Uncle Shoushan continued, “My nephew and I are part of the patrol team, so we know this area well. We scouted the place a few times during patrols and found those pine trees.”
“Then I picked an auspicious day, and we started digging.”
“But when we got here, we suddenly saw one of the pine trees bleeding. My nephew, out of curiosity, went to check it out. As soon as he got close to the tree, he dropped dead.”
“I was terrified and didn’t dare continue raiding the tomb. I sent the tools back and then reported it to the police.”
Master Longbrow said doubtfully, “Your nephew died, so why report it? You could’ve made up an excuse, held a funeral, and buried him. No one would know the cause of his death.”
Uncle Shoushan shook his head and said, “There’s a village rule that any unnatural death must be reported to the village. Then they send a coroner to examine the body.”
“If I lied, the coroner would find out something was wrong.”
“Besides, no one knows my nephew died because he tried to raid a tomb. If I tell the truth, I won’t slip up during questioning.”
“As for entering the forbidden area without reporting, I’ve prepared an excuse: I suspected there were poachers in the forbidden area.”
“This way, I don’t need to cover up lies, and they won’t suspect me. At worst, they’ll fire me from the patrol team, which is better than going to prison!”
Uncle Shoushan looked at Ye Qiu and said, “I’ve confessed everything I know. Can you take your foot off now?”
Ye Qiu’s foot was still on his chest, making him feel panicked and short of breath.
Ye Qiu didn’t move his foot and said, “Your skills aren’t bad. Who taught you?”
“My grandfather,” Uncle Shoushan said. “When my grandfather was young, he served as a guard in the Qing imperial court. He was skilled. After the Qing dynasty fell, he returned to our hometown in the Northeast. I trained with him since I was young.”
“I thought my martial arts were impressive, but I didn’t expect your skills to be so formidable. I was blind and offended you. Please forgive me.”
So that’s how it was.
Ye Qiu finished questioning and was about to lift his foot when Master Longbrow suddenly asked, “Old man, you said you grew up in this area. Do you know anything about the Golden City?”
Ye Qiu glanced at Master Longbrow, thinking, could this old man’s purpose in coming to the Northeast be the Golden City?
Even if the Golden City really exists, what use would a city made of gold be to Mount Longhu?
Uncle Shoushan nodded eagerly and said, “I’ve heard legends of the Golden City. An archaeological team once came to the mountains to search for it, but none of them came out.”
“When I was a kid, I asked my grandfather about it. He said there is indeed a Golden City in the forbidden area of Changbai Mountain, but he didn’t know where it was.”
“My grandfather also said that several Qing emperors often came to Changbai Mountain for rituals, but their real purpose was to search for the legendary Golden City.”
“It’s said the Golden City is a city made of gold, filled with countless treasures. There’s an old saying: whoever finds the Golden City will rule the world!”
Ye Qiu asked Master Longbrow, “Are you looking for the Golden City?”
“No, I was just curious and asked casually,” Master Longbrow said, turning his head away to avoid Ye Qiu’s gaze.
This old man was feeling guilty!
Ye Qiu was even more certain that his guess was correct: Master Longbrow’s trip to the Northeast was for the legendary Golden City.
“Don’t run off until this is resolved, or I won’t spare you.”
Ye Qiu said to Uncle Shoushan before finally lifting his foot.
Uncle Shoushan quickly got up from the ground, clasped his fists, and said to Ye Qiu, “Thank you for showing mercy.”
Ye Qiu ignored him and strode toward the bleeding pine tree.
Miracle Doctor Chapter 927
Uncle Shoushan saw Ye Qiu walking toward the bleeding pine tree, his face turning pale with fear.
He was terrified that Ye Qiu would end up like his nephew, dropping dead in front of the pine tree, and quickly warned, “Don’t go over there, that pine tree is very strange.”
However, Ye Qiu didn’t listen and continued walking toward the pine tree.
Uncle Shoushan, worried that if something happened to Ye Qiu, Tang Fei would blame him, said to Master Longbrow, “Master, please stop him, that pine tree is really strange.”
Master Longbrow scoffed, “It’s just a tree, what’s there to fear?”
“If something happens, don’t blame me for not warning you.”
Though Uncle Shoushan said this, his eyes were fixed on Ye Qiu, watching him step closer to the bleeding pine tree, his heart in his throat.
Soon, a shocking scene unfolded.
Ye Qiu reached the pine tree and didn’t collapse or die. Not only that, he even touched the tree with his finger.
“What, he’s fine?”
Uncle Shoushan’s eyes widened in shock.
Ye Qiu dipped his finger in the bright red liquid and sniffed it.
“Any findings?” Master Longbrow asked.
Ye Qiu replied, “It’s human blood.”
“Really human blood?” Master Longbrow looked surprised.
He had thought the liquid flowing from the pine tree was some kind of sap resembling blood, as trees don’t normally bleed. But some trees, due to their age, produce red sap through a chemical reaction.
Master Longbrow never expected it to actually be human blood.
He then walked to the pine tree as well.
Ye Qiu held out his finger to Master Longbrow, who looked down and saw the blood tinged with a hint of brown.
“How could human blood flow from a pine tree? And it seems like the blood is quite old,” Master Longbrow said.
Ye Qiu nodded, “Based on my judgment, the blood is at least a hundred years old.”
“A hundred years?” Master Longbrow was startled, puzzled, “Except in specific conditions, blood would dry up and coagulate over time. For blood over a hundred years old to remain like this is unimaginable.”
Ye Qiu stared at the sturdy pine tree, quietly activating his Heavenly Eye to peer inside.
Hiss!
Ye Qiu gasped.
“What’s wrong?” Master Longbrow noticed Ye Qiu’s expression and asked.
Ye Qiu said, “Step back.”
Master Longbrow immediately retreated.
Ye Qiu also stepped back ten metres, then shot a beam of sword energy from his fingertip, striking the tree trunk.
Boom!
The sturdy pine tree split in half, and instantly, a torrent of blood as thick as a bucket gushed out from the tree’s core, like a fountain.
The stench of blood was overwhelming.
“How could this be?”
Tang Fei was utterly shocked.
Uncle Shoushan was stunned too, never expecting the pine tree to be filled with blood. At the same time, he was terrified by Ye Qiu’s power, touching his head with lingering fear, saying, “My goodness, thank heavens he didn’t kill me earlier, or I’d be dead.”
“Be careful, the blood contains corpse poison,” Ye Qiu warned Master Longbrow.
Master Longbrow looked at the gushing pine tree, a look of realisation on his face, “I understand now, I understand.”
“What do you understand?” Ye Qiu asked.
Master Longbrow said, “As I mentioned before, there’s a great tomb here.”
“Places with great tombs are usually geomantic treasures.”
“I observed earlier that the terrain here matches the characteristics of a geomantic treasure, but I didn’t see any water source.”
“As the saying goes, geomancy requires both wind and water.”
“I was puzzled why there was no water source here, but now it all makes sense.”
“The owner of this tomb is using human blood as a water source.”
“If I’m not mistaken, the other six pine trees are also filled with human blood.”
Ye Qiu’s heart jolted, and he immediately used his Heavenly Eye to check the other six pine trees.
Sure enough, the other six were also filled with human blood, and it wouldn’t be long before the blood started flowing out.
Seven century-old pine trees, all filled with blood—how many people had to die to produce so much blood?
“I have a question. If the seven pine trees are filled with blood, how are they still growing so lushly?” Ye Qiu asked.
Master Longbrow said, “You may not know, but a true geomantic treasure is inherently full of vitality. Especially in a place like this, it’s very mysterious. Even if you stick a dry branch into the ground here, over time, it could come back to life.”
“Corpses buried in such a place, if blessed with enough fortune, not only remain undecayed but can also bring prosperity to descendants, making them thrive.”
“This is why, since ancient times, countless people have searched for geomantic treasures.”
Ye Qiu scoffed, “Those who deliberately seek geomantic treasures for burial don’t necessarily ensure their descendants’ success.”
“Think about it: if every geomantic treasure could guarantee prosperity for descendants, every ancient emperor’s tomb would be a top-tier geomantic treasure. Yet their dynasties were still lost by their descendants.”
“The most famous example is the Ming Dynasty’s Thirteen Tombs. Every imperial tomb was a geomantic treasure, yet the Ming Dynasty fell, and Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself on Coal Hill.”
“I believe that doing good deeds and accumulating virtue in life makes any burial site a geomantic treasure.”
Master Longbrow rolled his eyes, “Don’t dismiss the effects of geomantic treasures. If they had no effect, why have people searched for them for centuries?”
“Are they all idle or crazy?”
“Everything in this world exists for a reason.”
“Little brat, let’s not digress. We have work to do.”
Master Longbrow continued, “The blood is filled with corpse poison. We must find a way to deal with it.”
“What do you suggest?” Ye Qiu asked.
Master Longbrow said, “There’s no doubt the blood in the pine trees comes from the tomb. To resolve this completely, we have to dig up the tomb.”
Ye Qiu nodded, agreeing with Master Longbrow. Only by eliminating the corpse poison could the area remain safe.
Otherwise, if the other six pine trees also started leaking blood tainted with corpse poison, the nearby animals and plants would suffer, turning this geomantic treasure into a place of great danger.
Curious, Ye Qiu’s gaze turned to the roots of the seven pine trees.
His vision penetrated twenty metres underground.
Instantly, Ye Qiu’s expression grew grave.
Miracle Doctor Chapter 928
After activating his Heavenly Eye, Ye Qiu stared twenty metres underground.
Seeing Ye Qiu’s grave expression, Master Longbrow asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Old man, just wait and see. Once the tomb is opened, it’ll definitely shock you,” Ye Qiu said, then walked to Tang Fei and instructed, “Old Tang, get more people to help dig the tomb.”
“The only way to completely eliminate the corpse poison is to dig up the tomb.”
“Oh, and make sure everyone prepares protective suits and gas masks to avoid being poisoned.”
“Got it,” Tang Fei replied, immediately pulling out his phone to make a call.
After hanging up, Tang Fei said, “I’ve notified the local garrison at Changbai Mountain. They’re sending a company to assist. It’ll take about half an hour for them to arrive. No rush, right?”
“No rush. We’ll dig once they’re here,” Ye Qiu said.
While waiting, Tang Fei asked, “Ye Qiu, what did you and the Master find?”
Ye Qiu said, “There’s indeed a large tomb under the seven pine trees, but the corpse poison has already seeped through the trees. If we don’t deal with it, this place will soon become a cursed land.”
Tang Fei’s heart sank, and he said, “Should I notify the archaeology department to send someone over?”
“No need,” Master Longbrow said. “This tomb is quite strange. Let’s dig it up first.”
At this point, Ye Qiu asked Master Longbrow, “Old man, who do you think this tomb belongs to?”
Master Longbrow shook his head, “I don’t know, but once we open the tomb, we should find out who the owner is.”
Time passed quietly.
In just twenty-five minutes, a team of soldiers arrived in a hurry.
The leader was a middle-aged man in camouflage, with the rank of lieutenant colonel on his shoulders.
“Greetings, sir!”
The man approached Tang Fei, stood at attention, saluted, and said loudly, “Qin Feng, commander of the Fierce Tiger Company, reporting as ordered. Please give your instructions, sir.”
Tang Fei returned the salute and asked, “Did you bring the protective suits and gas masks?”
Qin Feng nodded, “Yes, they’re all in the backpacks.”
Tang Fei said, “Have the men put on the protective suits and await further instructions.”
“Yes, sir!”
Qin Feng gave the order, and in less than three minutes, the entire company had donned protective suits and gas masks.
Tang Fei said to Qin Feng, “Commander Qin, let me introduce you. This is Ye Qiu, from the Nether King’s Hall, with the rank of colonel. Follow his orders for what to do next.”
Qin Feng looked at Ye Qiu, barely hiding his shock.
Ye Qiu was just too young.
Uncle Shoushan’s eyes also filled with deep astonishment. He had long suspected Ye Qiu was no ordinary person, but hearing Tang Fei’s introduction sent waves of disbelief through him.
“So young and already a colonel? In a few years, won’t he become a general?”
“My goodness, thank heavens I didn’t offend him earlier, or I’d be done for.”
“To be a colonel at such a young age, besides having exceptional skills, he must have powerful backing.”
Uncle Shoushan glanced at Ye Qiu, his eyes shifting as he thought, “I need to find a way to latch onto this future general. With his protection, wealth and honour are assured.”
Meanwhile, Qin Feng saluted Ye Qiu respectfully, saying, “Greetings, sir.”
Ye Qiu smiled, “No need for formalities, Commander Qin. I’m younger than you, so just call me by my name.”
Qin Feng hesitated, “Is… that appropriate?”
Ye Qiu said, “If I say it’s fine, it’s fine.”
Seeing Ye Qiu’s straightforward manner, Qin Feng smiled slightly and asked, “Ye Qiu, what do we need to do? Just give the orders, and we’ll get it done.”
“Thank you,” Ye Qiu said, then added, “Commander Qin, please divide your company into seven teams.”
“Yes, sir!”
Qin Feng followed Ye Qiu’s instructions and split the company into seven teams.
Ye Qiu pointed at the seven pine trees and said, “Commander Qin, have the seven teams dig downward along the roots of the seven pine trees. Make sure not to damage the trees.”
“Yes, sir!”
Qin Feng immediately directed the Fierce Tiger Company’s soldiers to start digging.
Ye Qiu had warned Qin Feng not to damage the pine trees because if they were destroyed, the blood inside would spill out, severely slowing the excavation.
Uncle Shoushan approached Ye Qiu and said, “Mr. Ye, I’m just standing around. Can I help with the digging?”
“Sure,” Ye Qiu agreed.
Free labour was not to be wasted.
Uncle Shoushan got a protective suit and gas mask from Qin Feng, put them on, and joined the digging.
Ye Qiu reminded everyone, “The blood contains corpse poison. During the excavation, do not remove your gas masks. If you’re tired, take a break. We’re not in a hurry.”
“If anyone feels unwell, don’t push through. Come to me. I’m a doctor.”
Over a hundred soldiers from the Fierce Tiger Company, led by Qin Feng, dug swiftly.
Time passed quietly.
After four hours, the soldiers finally reached twenty metres underground.
Almost simultaneously, everyone stopped digging.
In their view appeared seven massive bronze coffins.
Each bronze coffin was about ten metres long and three metres wide, less like coffins and more like blood pools.
Every bronze coffin was filled with human blood.
The seven giant bronze coffins were arranged in the pattern of the Big Dipper, corresponding to the seven century-old pine trees above. The tree roots, soaked in the blood coffins, were bright red, giving off an eerie vibe.
“Fall back!”
The soldiers retreated in fear.
“No retreating!”
Qin Feng shouted, “Every soldier in the Fierce Tiger Company is a tiger, not a coward.”
“I’ve told you, no matter the danger, we charge forward, even through a mountain of blades or a sea of fire.”
“Keep digging!”
Qin Feng led by example, grabbing a tool and digging along the blood coffin.
Seeing their commander’s actions, the soldiers stepped forward and resumed digging.
“How many people must have been killed to produce so much blood? Whoever owns this tomb must have been a brutal tyrant.”
Master Longbrow, both shocked and angry, said, “Such a heinous act defies the heavens. They’ll be condemned to the eighteen levels of hell after death.”
Ye Qiu was pondering another issue, saying, “Both the seven century-old pine trees and the seven bronze blood coffins are arranged in the Big Dipper pattern. Old man, what do you think the tomb’s owner was trying to do?”
Master Longbrow said furiously, “Whatever the tomb’s owner was planning, since I’ve encountered it, I won’t let them succeed…”
At that moment, Ye Qiu let out a surprised, “Huh?”
His eyes fixed on the far north, his expression growing even graver.
Miracle Doctor Chapter 929
Tang Fei approached Ye Qiu and asked, “How do we handle the human blood in the seven coffins?”
The blood contained corpse poison, and if not dealt with, the consequences would be endless.
“Old man, you can handle it, right?” Ye Qiu asked.
Master Longbrow said, “There’s too much blood. Completely removing the corpse poison is difficult.”
Ye Qiu’s heart sank.
Then Master Longbrow laughed, “It might be difficult for others, but for me, the head of Mount Longhu, dealing with this corpse poison is a piece of cake.”
Damn, can’t you stop showing off?
“The corpse poison is on you,” Ye Qiu shot Master Longbrow a glare, then walked toward the far north.
“Where are you going?” Master Longbrow asked.
Ye Qiu didn’t answer, took sixty steps forward, and stared at the ground for a while.
Two minutes later, Ye Qiu used a branch to draw a three-metre by three-metre square on the ground.
“Commander Qin!”
Ye Qiu waved to Qin Feng, the commander of the Fierce Tiger Company.
Qin Feng jogged over, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and asked, “What’s the order?”
Ye Qiu pointed to the square on the ground and said, “Assign a few men to dig three metres down following this pattern.”
“Got it.”
Qin Feng immediately called over a dozen soldiers to start digging.
Meanwhile, Master Longbrow approached one of the bronze blood coffins, pulled three talismans from his robe sleeve, and tossed them into the coffin.
Then, he sat cross-legged in front of the bronze coffin, closed his eyes, and softly chanted a mantra.
After a while, Master Longbrow suddenly opened his eyes, extended his right index and middle fingers in a sword gesture, and pointed at the coffin.
“Dispel!”
Master Longbrow gave a soft shout, but the coffin remained still.
The soldiers present looked puzzled.
“What’s this Taoist doing?”
“Completely incomprehensible.”
“Playing tricks…”
Before the murmurs stopped, the blood in the giant bronze coffin suddenly began to boil, emitting wisps of black smoke.
Master Longbrow stood up, moved to the second blood coffin, threw in three talismans, sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and chanted again.
After a moment, he opened his eyes, made the sword gesture, and pointed at the coffin.
“Dispel!”
Soon, the blood in the second bronze coffin boiled, releasing wisps of black smoke.
In this way, Master Longbrow spent half an hour making the blood in all seven coffins boil.
“Tang Fei, tell everyone to stay away from the coffins for now,” Master Longbrow instructed.
Tang Fei nodded and asked, “Master, will this remove the corpse poison from the blood?”
“Yes,” Master Longbrow confirmed, then exclaimed, “Damn, I’m exhausted.”
Tang Fei glanced at Master Longbrow, noting his sweaty forehead and pale face, clearly worn out.
“Thank you, Master. Take a rest,” Tang Fei said with concern.
“Where’s the little brat?” Master Longbrow asked.
“Over there,” Tang Fei pointed to the far north.
Master Longbrow turned and saw Ye Qiu directing soldiers to dig, and asked, “What’s he doing?”
“No idea,” Tang Fei admitted.
“Let’s go check,” Master Longbrow said, striding over to Ye Qiu.
He glanced at the pit the soldiers were digging and asked Ye Qiu, “What are you up to?”
“Guess,” Ye Qiu teased.
“Guess my ass! Spill it,” Master Longbrow’s curiosity was piqued.
Ye Qiu mocked, “Don’t you always brag about being the world’s greatest diviner? Can’t even figure out what I’m doing?”
Master Longbrow glared at Ye Qiu, annoyed, then said, “For such a trivial matter, asking me to divine is a waste of talent. But… I get it, this is the tomb’s entrance.”
A glint of surprise flashed in Ye Qiu’s eyes, “How’d you know?”
Master Longbrow explained, “The seven century-old pine trees are arranged in the Big Dipper pattern, as are the seven bronze blood coffins, corresponding to the Big Dipper in the sky.”
“As we know, the Big Dipper revolves around the Purple Forbidden Star.”
“The Purple Forbidden Star, known as the master of the Dipper, is considered the ‘Emperor Star’ in astrology and geomancy, called the North Star today. Like a celestial emperor, it sits in the north, overseeing the world.”
“No matter the season, the Big Dipper always revolves around the Purple Forbidden Star. If the sky is a funnel, the Purple Forbidden Star is its tip.”
Pointing to the pit, Master Longbrow said, “This spot is due north, corresponding to the North Star. Based on the positions of the seven pine trees and blood coffins, this should be the tomb’s entrance.”
“Little brat, am I right?”
Ye Qiu glanced at Master Longbrow, thinking, the old man’s not the head of Mount Longhu for nothing—he’s got skills.
Indeed, they were digging the tomb’s entrance.
The tomb’s owner had used so much human blood here, an utterly heinous act. Ye Qiu wanted to enter the tomb to see who this person was.
Moreover, the seven pine trees and seven bronze blood coffins, all arranged in the Big Dipper pattern, made Ye Qiu suspect the tomb’s owner had ulterior motives, perhaps beyond just occupying this geomantic treasure.
Ye Qiu said, “By the way, old man, are you sure your method can completely remove the corpse poison from the blood coffins?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Master Longbrow bristled, “Doubting my abilities?”
Ye Qiu clarified, “That’s not what I meant. I’m saying, if your method works, you might as well clear the corpse poison from the seven pine trees too.”
Master Longbrow said, “I’m exhausted from earlier. I’ll handle it after a break.”
“Tang Fei, arrange some men to clear the trees around the seven pines and set up a firebreak. I’ll burn those seven pine trees later.”
“Got it,” Tang Fei immediately organised the task.
Qin Feng and a dozen soldiers dug for another hour, finally uncovering a bronze floor.
The bronze floor was ancient and imposing, thick with the weight of time, featuring two copper rings—clearly the tomb’s entrance.
Ye Qiu noticed a string of Mongolian script carved on the bronze floor, none of which he recognised.
He asked, “Old man, do you know these words?”
“I’m not an expert in Mongolian, but I know a bit. Let me see.”
Master Longbrow studied the script, then his body shook, and he said, “Bronze Immortal Gate, intruders will die!”
Miracle Doctor Chapter 930
Bronze Immortal Gate, intruders will die!
As Master Longbrow spoke, the digging soldiers’ faces filled with fear, instinctively stepping back, wary of trouble.
Even Qin Feng’s expression grew serious.
“Hmph, ‘intruders will die,’ what arrogance!” Ye Qiu sneered, adding, “Does this guy think he can become an immortal after death?”
Master Longbrow said gravely, “It’s not out of the question.”
“In ancient times, some emperors, unable to achieve immortality in life, fantasized about becoming immortals after death.”
“The most famous is the First Emperor of Qin. He sent Xu Fu with three thousand boys and girls to sail east in search of the elixir of immortality, but Xu Fu never returned.”
“So, the First Emperor had a massive mausoleum built at Mount Li, said to include not only the unearthed Terracotta Warriors but also a magnificent underground palace.”
“Legend has it, the ceiling of the Qin Mausoleum’s underground palace was adorned with luminous pearls as stars, and the floor was filled with mercury to mimic rivers and seas.”
“Moreover, he had ritualists set up special formations, all to help him become an immortal after death.”
“This place is a geomantic treasure, which should need no special arrangements.”
“But the seven bronze blood coffins and seven century-old pine trees we’ve seen seem deliberately arranged by the tomb’s owner.”
“Their purpose might indeed be to become an immortal, otherwise, why would they place a bronze gate at the tomb’s entrance with the words ‘Immortal Gate’ inscribed?”
Ye Qiu said, “Whatever their purpose, resorting to such ruthless means for immortality deserves annihilation.”
“Well said!” Master Longbrow agreed, “Such a person should be condemned to the eighteen levels of hell after death.”
“Commander Qin, have your men fall back.”
After Master Longbrow spoke, Qin Feng immediately led the soldiers aside. Then, Master Longbrow stepped onto the Bronze Immortal Gate, looking left and right.
After observing for a while, Master Longbrow frowned, saying, “I couldn’t find the mechanism to open this gate.”
“No mechanism? Then we’ll break it open by force,” Ye Qiu said, preparing to act.
“Why use a butcher’s knife to kill a chicken? Little brat, take a break, I’ll handle this small matter.”
Master Longbrow stopped Ye Qiu because, with so many people watching, it was a perfect chance to show off. Missing it would be a shame.
Imagine, if he broke open the Bronze Immortal Gate, the soldiers would be stunned.
Then, his image in their minds would become towering, and they’d look at him with reverence, as if he were a god.
Thinking of this, a smile curled on Master Longbrow’s lips, his heart filled with delight.
Ye Qiu found it odd. This old man usually avoided extra effort, so why was he so eager now?
Glancing at Master Longbrow and seeing his smile, Ye Qiu suddenly understood.
“So, this old guy wants to show off. Fine, I wish you success.”
Ye Qiu urged, “Old man, hurry up!”
“Don’t rush. Give me thirty seconds, and this Bronze Immortal Gate will turn to dust.”
Master Longbrow adjusted his robe, chanting softly, exuding the air of a lofty sage.
“Show-off!” Ye Qiu cursed under his breath.
Ten seconds passed.
Master Longbrow flicked his whisk and shouted, “Thunder, come!”
Boom!
A bolt of lightning, thick as a cup, appeared from nowhere and struck the Bronze Immortal Gate.
The scene stunned the soldiers.
“So powerful!”
“He calls for thunder, and it comes. Is this the legendary supreme Taoist art—words that command reality?”
“Worthy of the head of Mount Longhu, truly a divine figure!”
The soldiers stared at Master Longbrow, their faces filled with awe.
Qin Feng also looked at Master Longbrow with reverence.
As for Uncle Shoushan, he felt both shock and lingering fear, “Master Longbrow’s skills are terrifying. Thank goodness I didn’t offend him earlier, or one thunderbolt would’ve turned me to ash.”
While everyone was in awe, Master Longbrow’s face darkened, unable to muster joy.
The lightning struck the Bronze Immortal Gate, but it remained undamaged.
His show-off attempt failed!
“One bolt won’t break this bronze gate. Use the Five Thunder Orthodox Method!” Ye Qiu said.
“The Five Thunder Orthodox Method is too taxing. I can’t use it lightly. Let me think of another way,” Master Longbrow stood there, frowning in thought.
Time ticked by.
Five minutes passed, and with no solution from Master Longbrow, Ye Qiu grew impatient.
“Step aside, I’ll do it!”
Ye Qiu activated the Nine-Turn Dragon Art, channeling power into his right hand.
Suddenly, Ye Qiu leaped into the air, spun head-down, feet-up, and plummeted, smashing his fist onto the Bronze Immortal Gate.
“Boom!”
A deafening crash echoed.
Ye Qiu returned to his spot.
The Fierce Tiger Company soldiers, seeing this, whispered among themselves.
“He’s trying to smash the tomb gate with his fist?”
“During the digging, I noticed that bronze gate is at least a foot thick. Even a grenade couldn’t blast it open. He thinks he can punch through it? Delusional.”
“Master Longbrow’s lightning didn’t break it. Can his fist do it?”
“He’s handsome, but not too bright… holy crap!”
The speaking soldier gasped, eyes widening in disbelief.
“How is this possible!”
The other soldiers were stunned too, seeing a crack appear on the Bronze Immortal Gate.
Then a second crack appeared,
A third crack…
In an instant, hundreds of fine cracks spread across the gate, accompanied by “crack, crack” sounds.
One minute later, with a “boom,” the Bronze Immortal Gate shattered into dust, revealing a pitch-black opening.
The Fierce Tiger Company soldiers stood frozen, speechless, jaws dropped, shocked by Ye Qiu’s power.
Ignoring their astonishment, Ye Qiu scoffed, “It couldn’t even withstand thirty percent of my strength. What a pathetic Bronze Immortal Gate.”
What, he only used thirty percent of his strength?
Is he even human?
The crowd was petrified.
Master Longbrow glanced at Ye Qiu, eyes filled with intense jealousy and envy, itching to punch him in the face.
“You little bastard, stealing my spotlight! Hmph, we’re not done!”
