 Miracle Doctor Chapter 711

The onlookers widened their eyes one by one.

Their faces were filled with shock.

They saw a round, red jadeite, as large as two basketballs, weighing at least several dozen pounds.

Its colour was vivid and enchanting, red as fire.

Its radiance was dazzling to the eyes.

Lin Jingzhi and Qian Duoduo were also stunned.

They hadn’t expected that the rough stone Ye Qiu had chosen would contain such a massive piece of red jadeite.

“Sister-in-law, is this red jadeite that Cousin cut out worth as much as Imperial Green?” Qian Duoduo whispered.

He was very worried about losing this round.

Lin Jingzhi said, “Although red jadeite of this quality is rare on the market, I’m not sure if it’s worth as much as Imperial Green.”

At that moment, the shocked crowd came to their senses, and exclamations rang out one after another:

“My God, top-grade red jadeite!”

“A red jadeite this large is a once-in-a-century treasure, worth a fortune.”

“At least three billion!”

What?

Three billion?

Qian Duoduo was so shocked that his mouth wouldn’t close.

Then, someone else said, “As the saying goes, rarity increases value. This top-grade red jadeite is lustrous and translucent, naturally formed, worth at least five billion. If it goes to auction, it could fetch ten billion.”

“Ten billion for a piece of jade? Doesn’t that mean this jade is worth as much as a mid-sized listed company?”

“This young man’s luck is unbelievable!”

“Exactly! He opened two rough stones in a row—first a top-grade violet jadeite, now a top-grade natural red jadeite. His luck is simply heaven-defying!”

“If only I had his luck!”

Everyone cast envious glances at Ye Qiu, but this time, no one made an offer. Such an expensive red jadeite was beyond their means.

In fact, when Ye Qiu entered the processing plant, he had used his Heavenly Eye to scan the area.

He had immediately spotted this largest rough stone containing a piece of red jadeite, as well as the Imperial Green that Mr. Yao had cut open.

Ye Qiu had planned to choose the Imperial Green for the second round, but Mr. Yao, with his sharp eye, had picked it first.

With no other choice, Ye Qiu had selected this largest rough stone.

To be honest, before cutting it open, Ye Qiu hadn’t known the red jadeite would be worth so much. He only thought such a large piece of jadeite would be worth something, but he never imagined it would be valued at ten billion.

At this moment, he had only one feeling—

He’d struck it rich!

Nearby, Mu En’s face was as dark as the bottom of a pot. In his mind, he cursed all the appraisers he’d hired.

“A bunch of useless idiots! Not one of them spotted such a massive piece of jadeite.”

“This is a red jadeite worth ten billion!”

“I could’ve been worth ten billion overnight. It’s all that bastard Yao’s fault. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have given the rough stone to that Ye kid.”

Thinking of this, Mu En shot a cold glance at Mr. Yao.

“Yao, just you wait. I’ll settle the score with you later.”

Then, Mu En glanced at the top-grade red jadeite.

“A red jadeite worth ten billion? Think you can take it from me? In your dreams.”

Mu En pulled out his phone and quietly sent a message.

Not far away, Mr. Yao’s face was ashen.

“How could this happen?”

“How did he cut out a red jadeite?”

“Why him?”

Mr. Yao clenched his fists, both shocked and furious.

He had thought he’d win this round for sure, but who could’ve predicted that Ye Qiu would cut out a top-grade red jadeite?

Mr. Yao wasn’t most worried about losing this round, but about the promise he’d made to Mu En earlier.

He had said that the rough stone Ye Qiu picked couldn’t possibly yield jade, and if it did, he’d compensate Mu En for its full value.

Though Mr. Yao had made a fortune over the years, his entire net worth was less than one billion. But this top-grade red jadeite was worth ten billion.

“Mu En is ruthless. If I can’t pay this, he’ll definitely kill me!”

“Where am I supposed to get ten billion to compensate him?”

“This is going to be the death of me!”

The so-called Jade King was now scared to the point of tears.

Ma Dong and Gao Fei’s faces were equally grim.

“Damn it, this kid actually cut out a top-grade red jadeite. Did his ancestors’ graves start smoking or what?” Gao Fei cursed.

Ma Dong gritted his teeth in anger. “Bloody hell, he’s got the luck of the devil.”

“Young Master Ma, we’re done for. Boss Mu won’t work with you now.”

“What can I do? Who told Ye Qiu to cut out a red jadeite?”

Ma Dong was fuming with frustration.

Just then, Lin Jingzhi’s voice rang out. She said with a smile, “According to Boss Mu’s rules, it’s best of three. Sorry, but I’ve won!”

“Boss Mu, it looks like I’ll be your only partner in Suzhou and Hangzhou from now on.”

“You won’t go back on your word, will you?”

Lin Jingzhi looked at Mu En with a cheerful smile.

Mu En wiped the gloom from his face and laughed loudly. “I, Mu, am a man of my word.”

“Rest assured, Ms. Lin, I’ll keep supplying you with goods from now on.”

“Here’s to a happy partnership.”

Mu En extended his right hand, intending to shake hands with Lin Jingzhi.

Knowing his character, Lin Jingzhi didn’t extend her hand. Instead, she said, “Boss Mu, we’re in for a long-term partnership. A handshake lacks sincerity. I’ll host a dinner later and treat you to a drink.”

“Great!” Mu En withdrew his hand and added, “Ms. Lin, I have one request.”

“Please, go ahead.”

“You can’t take this red jadeite.”

Lin Jingzhi immediately asked, “Boss Mu, do you want this red jadeite?”

Mu En laughed heartily. “Who wouldn’t want a once-in-a-century top-grade red jadeite? Of course I want it.”

Lin Jingzhi asked with a smile, “Then what price is Boss Mu prepared to pay for it?”

“Pay for it? Why would I need to pay?” Mu En said. “This red jadeite is mine to begin with.”

A cold glint flashed in Lin Jingzhi’s eyes. “Boss Mu, you said earlier that we could freely choose any rough stone, and you’d give it to us for free. Ye Qiu even double-checked with you before picking. Have you forgotten?”

Mu En smiled. “Of course I remember.”

“Then what do you mean now?” Lin Jingzhi asked.

“My meaning is simple: you can’t take this top-grade red jadeite. It’s mine.” Mu En continued with a smile, “Ms. Lin, it’s not impossible for you to have it, but only if you agree to another condition of mine.”

Lin Jingzhi asked, “What condition?”

Mu En grinned. “Be my woman.”

Instantly, Lin Jingzhi’s face turned icy. Just as she was about to speak, Ye Qiu stepped to her side and said, “Boss Mu, have you ever heard a saying?”

“If you don’t court death, you won’t die.”

“Trying to steal my woman—are you asking for trouble?”

As Ye Qiu’s words fell, he slapped Mu En across the face.

Slap!

Miracle Doctor Chapter 712

The crisp sound of the slap echoed through the entire venue.

A bright red palm print instantly appeared on Mu En’s chubby face.

Mu En’s eyes widened in disbelief.

He never imagined that someone would dare to hit him on his own turf.

Absolutely outrageous!

The onlookers were also shocked.

“Damn, that kid’s got some guts, daring to hit Boss Mu.”

“He’s asking for death!”

“Boss Mu has connections everywhere. In Dali, he’s like an emperor. Provoking him is just asking for trouble, isn’t it?”

“That kid’s done for!”

At the same time, Ma Dong and Gao Fei were overjoyed.

“Great, we don’t even need to lift a finger. Uncle Mu will take care of Ye Qiu,” Ma Dong whispered with a smirk.

Gao Fei chuckled, “Ye Qiu’s too arrogant. Doesn’t he know whose territory this is? He’s practically begging to die.”

Mr. Yao was also thrilled.

He had been worried about what would happen if Ye Qiu took the top-grade red jadeite and Mu En demanded compensation from him. But now, with this unexpected turn of events, Mr. Yao was no longer concerned.

With Mu En being hit, he definitely wouldn’t let Ye Qiu off. That meant Ye Qiu wouldn’t be able to take the top-grade red jadeite.

As long as the red jadeite ended up in Mu En’s hands, Mu En wouldn’t come after him for compensation.

With this in mind, Mr. Yao shouted at Ye Qiu, “How dare you lay a hand on Boss Mu? Are you looking to die?”

Ye Qiu didn’t give the so-called Jade King any face and immediately snapped, “Get lost, you old fool.”

“You—”

Mr. Yao was so angry he nearly spat blood.

Damn it, calling me a fool is one thing, but why add “old” to it?

Am I really that old?

Generally, older people, especially those with some status, like to be complimented on looking young. They particularly hate being called old.

Mr. Yao was about to speak again, but as soon as he opened his mouth, Ye Qiu shot him a glance.

Instantly, Mr. Yao felt as if he’d fallen into an icy abyss.

What kind of background does this kid have?

How can his gaze be so terrifying?

Mr. Yao, a man of experience, immediately realised Ye Qiu was likely no ordinary person and quickly shut his mouth.

Mu En came to his senses, touched his stinging cheek, and burst into laughter.

“Hahaha…”

The crowd looked at Mu En, puzzled.

He’d been hit, so why was he laughing?

After laughing for a while, Mu En stared at Ye Qiu and said sinisterly, “Kid, I must say, I admire your guts for daring to hit me. You’ve got balls!”

“Don’t you know who I am in Dali?”

“I’ve never been slapped in my life.”

“I was going to let you off, but you chose the path to hell instead of the road to paradise.”

At this, Mu En turned to Lin Jingzhi and said, “Ms. Lin, I’ll give you two choices.”

“Either you become my woman.”

“Or your boyfriend leaves his life here.”

Lin Jingzhi raised her delicate hand, beckoned to Mu En with a finger, and said, “Boss Mu, what did you just say? I didn’t catch that. Could you come closer and say it again?”

Without thinking much, Mu En stepped forward, leaned closer to Lin Jingzhi, and said, “Ms. Lin—”

Slap!

Lin Jingzhi slapped Mu En across the face.

The slap left Mu En dumbfounded.

He couldn’t understand why Lin Jingzhi, who had been all smiles moments ago, suddenly turned on him.

What Mu En didn’t know was that Lin Jingzhi had initially avoided offending him because she wanted a long-term partnership.

But after Ye Qiu made his move, Lin Jingzhi changed her mind.

Since the facade was already torn, there was no need to hold back.

Lin Jingzhi sneered with disdain, “Why don’t you take a look in the mirror? You look like a fat pig, and you dare to have designs on me? Who gave you the nerve?”

At those words, a murderous glint appeared in Mu En’s eyes.

“Good! Very good! Excellent!”

“Lin Jingzhi, Ye Qiu, you two dare to touch me? You’re something else!”

“It seems I need to show you who’s in charge in Dali!”

As Mu En finished speaking, a large group of people stormed into the processing plant from outside.

These men looked fierce, wielding either steel pipes or machetes.

There were at least two or three hundred of them!

Without a word, they surrounded Ye Qiu, Lin Jingzhi, and Qian Duoduo.

The sight terrified the onlookers.

The crowd whispered among themselves:

“It’s over. That kid’s either dead or crippled today!”

“That woman will probably be toyed with by Boss Mu until she’s ruined!”

“Why did they have to hit Boss Mu? Isn’t that just asking for death?”

“Such a pity. That woman is as beautiful as a flower with a stunning figure, and now she’ll be taken by Boss Mu!”

Ma Dong said excitedly, “Ye Qiu’s as good as dead today.”

Gao Fei was also pleased with how things were unfolding, though he wasn’t as thrilled as Ma Dong.

“Even though Boss Mu has numbers on his side, Young Master Ma, don’t forget that Ye Qiu’s combat skills are impressive,” Gao Fei said.

Ma Dong whispered, “True, Ye Qiu’s skills are impressive, but Uncle Mu’s men aren’t pushovers either.”

“Even if they can’t stop Ye Qiu, it doesn’t matter. Remember what you told me? In this day and age, it’s no longer about individual fighting prowess.”

“Just watch. Ye Qiu’s dead for sure today.”

Seeing Ma Dong’s confidence, Gao Fei suddenly thought of something and asked, “Could it be that Boss Mu has a gun…?”

Shh!

Ma Dong quickly made a silencing gesture, his face stern as he warned Gao Fei, “Watch your words!”

“Some things are better kept in your head than spoken aloud.”

“Be careful what you say.”

Gao Fei nodded. “I understand.”

Ma Dong continued, “I thought losing the stone-gambling bet meant no chance to work with Uncle Mu. But who would’ve thought Ye Qiu and Lin Jingzhi would dig their own graves? Looks like I can still partner with Uncle Mu.”

“As long as Uncle Mu keeps supplying me with goods, my jewellery company will surely grow bigger and stronger.”

“It’s just a shame that Lin Jingzhi will become Uncle Mu’s woman. Sigh…”

At that moment, Mu En pointed at Ye Qiu and shouted, “Brothers, get him! Kill that kid!”

Instantly, two to three hundred men charged at Ye Qiu.

“Big Sis Lin, you guys protect yourselves and stay back,” Ye Qiu said before rushing forward.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The scene descended into chaos.

Watching Ye Qiu being swarmed by his men, Mu En sneered, “Hmph, reckless fool. You dare to challenge me? Let’s see if I don’t finish you.”

His gaze then fell on Lin Jingzhi’s face, his eyes glinting with malice as he muttered, “You little wretch, daring to hit me. Once I’ve dealt with your boyfriend, I’ll have my way with you right in front of him…”

But at that moment, one of his men suddenly crashed to the ground in front of Mu En, spitting blood.

Miracle Doctor Chapter 713

Mu En looked up.

He was dumbfounded.

His men were being tossed around like punching bags, one after another, sent flying by Ye Qiu.

But Ye Qiu—

He was completely unscathed!

Not a single one of Mu En’s men could get close to Ye Qiu.

Not even the hem of his clothes was touched.

Mu En was utterly shocked.

“How is this kid so skilled?”

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In less than ten minutes, all of Mu En’s men were sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain.

This…

The entire crowd was stunned!

The onlookers were left speechless, their jaws dropped.

“Damn, that kid is incredible!”

“One guy taking on hundreds? Even Ip Man in his prime couldn’t do that!”

“Absolutely unreal!”

“No wonder he was so cocky earlier—he’s got the skills to back it up!”

Ma Dong’s face darkened. “Damn it, he’s that good? I underestimated him.”

Gao Fei said, “Let’s just hope Boss Mu steps up next and takes him out.”

Mr. Yao’s earlier excitement vanished completely. Things weren’t going as he had hoped, and his worries returned.

What if Ye Qiu walked away with the top-grade red jadeite and Mu En demanded compensation from him?

“God, please help me. Let Boss Mu finish him off!”

Mr. Yao prayed silently.

After Ye Qiu knocked down Mu En’s men, he moved in a flash.

The crowd only saw a blur.

Then, they saw Ye Qiu standing in front of Mu En, a cold, menacing smile on his lips.

In that moment, Mu En felt as if he were being stared down by a ferocious beast. He instinctively stepped back, shouting at Ye Qiu, “What do you want?”

Ye Qiu didn’t respond. He lunged forward, grabbed both of Mu En’s arms, and twisted hard.

Crack!

“Ah…”

A scream like a slaughtered pig echoed.

Both of Mu En’s arms were broken by Ye Qiu.

The crowd felt a chill run down their spines.

“This kid is ruthless!”

“Not only did he slap Boss Mu, but he also broke both his arms. He’s got some nerve!”

“Boss Mu’s no pushover. I’ve heard he’s got blood on his hands. He’ll probably fight this kid to the death!”

Slap!

Ye Qiu slapped Mu En across the face. “You dare touch my girlfriend? I’ve been putting up with you for too long.”

Mu En didn’t say a word, his eyes glaring at Ye Qiu with such hatred it seemed he wanted to swallow him whole.

As the local kingpin of Dali, he had never been so humiliated.

Ye Qiu sneered. “What, you want to kill me?”

“Planning to get revenge?”

“I’d advise you not to try, or you’ll end up a corpse.”

With that, Ye Qiu picked up the top-grade red jadeite, took Lin Jingzhi’s hand, and said gently, “Big Sis Lin, let’s go.”

Lin Jingzhi nodded, and with Qian Duoduo, they headed outside.

Just like that?

Everyone looked at Mu En, wondering what he would do to stop Ye Qiu.

After all, with things having escalated this far, Mu En wouldn’t let it go easily.

But to everyone’s surprise, Mu En didn’t say a word. He just watched as Ye Qiu and the others left the processing plant.

After a long pause, Ma Dong approached Mu En and said, “Uncle Mu, how could you just let them leave?”

Mu En’s eyes narrowed, his gaze sharp as a blade. “What, you trying to tell me how to handle my business?”

Ma Dong flinched, quickly saying, “Uncle Mu, you misunderstood! I’m just worried. That kid treated you like that, and you let him walk away. What will people think of you? This is your territory!”

“Shut up! I don’t need you telling me what to do.”

After cursing Ma Dong, Mu En’s eyes fell on Mr. Yao. “Mr. Yao, do you remember what you said earlier?”

Mr. Yao forced a smile and said, “Boss Mu, what I said before was just a joke. Don’t take it seriously.”

“A joke?” Mu En’s face darkened. He strode over and kicked Mr. Yao to the ground. “Say it’s a joke one more time, I dare you!”

Mr. Yao, frail and elderly, couldn’t withstand Mu En’s kick. Clutching his stomach, he writhed in pain on the ground, saying, “Boss Mu, I was really just joking…”

Slap!

Mu En stomped on Mr. Yao’s face, snarling, “You think you can joke with me? Are you tired of living?”

“You’re the so-called Jade King. You made a promise in front of everyone, and now you deny it? Have you no shame?”

“And that top-grade red jadeite was supposed to be mine. If you hadn’t sworn there was no jade in that stone and convinced me to give it to that kid, how would I have lost ten billion, been slapped, and had my arms broken?”

Mr. Yao immediately apologised. “Boss Mu, this has nothing to do with me. That kid deliberately went against you, I…”

Mu En cut him off impatiently. “Mr. Yao, I’ll ask you one thing: are you going to compensate me for my loss?”

Mr. Yao wanted to keep denying it, claiming it was a joke, but he noticed the murderous intent in Mu En’s eyes. Panicking, he quickly changed his tune.

“I’ll compensate! I’ll compensate! But Boss Mu, I don’t have that kind of money. How about I give you the Imperial Green I cut earlier…”

Bang!

Before Mr. Yao could finish, Mu En kicked him again, cursing, “That Imperial Green came from my rough stone. It was always mine.”

“Yao, if you don’t pay up, I’ll send you to the afterlife today.”

Mr. Yao was on the verge of tears, pleading, “Boss Mu, let’s talk this out.”

“I’m not hiding anything—I genuinely want to compensate you, but my entire net worth isn’t even a tenth of that red jadeite’s value.”

“Boss Mu, please, spare me!”

Mu En sneered. “You may not have the money, but you can borrow it from your boss!”

Boss?

Mr. Yao paused, then realised what he meant and shouted at Ma Dong, “Young Master Ma, save me!”

“Lend me ten billion.”

“If you help me, I swear I’ll follow your every order and work like a dog for you.”

Ma Dong sighed. “Mr. Yao, it’s not that I don’t want to help, but I really don’t have that kind of money!”

Mr. Yao said, “Young Master Ma, you can ask your father!”

“Doesn’t your father have a net worth of tens of billions? Ten billion is nothing to him!”

“After all, I’m your company’s chief appraiser. You can’t just let me die, can you?”

Ma Dong’s face was cold. “Mr. Yao, it’s not that I don’t want to save you. Honestly, I want to help more than anyone, but ten billion is too much. My father won’t give it to me.”

Just then, Mu En spoke up. “Ma Dong, Mr. Yao is your man. He caused me to lose ten billion. As his boss, don’t you think you owe me an explanation?”

“Uncle Mu, what do you mean…”

“Pay me ten billion, or none of you are leaving here alive!”

Miracle Doctor Chapter 714

“Compensate me with ten billion, or none of you will leave here alive!”

Hearing Mu En’s words, Ma Dong cursed inwardly, Bloody hell, isn’t this extortion?

Ma Dong now desperately wanted to kill Mr. Yao. If it weren’t for that old fool, how would he have landed in this mess?

If he actually paid that sum, wouldn’t he be the biggest sucker?

What to do?

Ma Dong glanced at Gao Fei.

Gao Fei immediately understood Ma Dong’s meaning and said, “Mr. Mu, you’re absolutely right. Mr. Yao is one of our company’s people, and as his boss, Young Master Ma should indeed give you an explanation.”

“However, as you know, even if Young Master Ma gave you his entire company, it wouldn’t be worth ten billion.”

“So, asking Young Master Ma to compensate ten billion for Mr. Yao’s mistake is simply unrealistic.”

Mu En said coldly, “No compensation, and I’ll send you all to the afterlife.”

At these words, Gao Fei wasn’t scared at all. Instead, he smiled and said, “Mr. Mu, don’t try to frighten us. I know you’re joking.”

“You and Mr. Ma, the tycoon, are friends, and Young Master Ma calls you ‘Uncle.’ You wouldn’t lay a hand on him, no matter who you targeted.”

“Otherwise, what would people think of you?”

“If you touched Young Master Ma, everyone would surely call you heartless and disloyal. And Mr. Ma, the tycoon—would he let it slide?”

Hmph!

Mu En let out a heavy, cold snort and said icily, “What, trying to use Mr. Ma to pressure me?”

“Do you think I’m afraid of him?”

“I’ve lost ten billion, and my hands were broken. I’m capable of anything now.”

“Today, you must compensate me, or don’t blame me for being merciless!”

Mu En’s face was full of menace.

The thought of Ye Qiu walking away with a top-grade red jade worth ten billion made his heart ache as if pierced by needles.

Gao Fei hurriedly said, “Mr. Mu, you’ve misunderstood. I didn’t mean to use Mr. Ma to pressure you.”

“Here in Dali, you hold sway over both the legal and illegal worlds. Naturally, you wouldn’t fear Mr. Ma.”

“What I’m saying is, now isn’t the time to discuss compensation. There are two urgent matters that need immediate attention.”

“The first is to retrieve that top-grade red jade from Ye Qiu’s hands.”

“The second is to take revenge on Ye Qiu.”

“That top-grade red jade was rightfully yours. What right does that Ye Qiu have to take it? What qualifications does he have?”

“That lad is utterly unreasonable. Not only did he take the red jade worth ten billion, but he also slapped you in public and broke your hands. It’s absolutely outrageous.”

At the mention of this, Mu En’s anger flared up again.

Being publicly beaten today would surely become gossip for others to chuckle over after meals. Perhaps even now, people were laughing at him behind his back.

With a stern face, Mu En said, “Retrieve it? Easier said than done! You saw that lad’s skills. He took down hundreds of my men single-handedly. How am I supposed to get the jade back from him?”

Gao Fei said, “To get the jade back, we can only use force.”

Mu En frowned. “You mean I should rob it back?”

“Exactly,” Gao Fei nodded and said. “And we need to act quickly. If Ye Qiu leaves Dali, it’ll be much harder to handle.”

Mu En snorted coldly, “The monk may run, but the temple stays. Even if they leave Dali, I can track them down.”

“Mr. Mu, we absolutely cannot let them leave Dali.”

Gao Fei quickly explained his reasoning: “Mr. Mu, Dali is your turf. You have connections in both the legal and illegal worlds. Whatever happens here, you can control it.”

“But once they leave Dali, things will get complicated and tricky.”

“What if Ye Qiu sells that top-grade red jade and flees abroad with Lin Jingzhi? What can you do then?”

“At that point, you’d lose not only the jade but also the chance for revenge. This beating would have been for nothing.”

For nothing?

No, this beating will never be for nothing. I’ll make Ye Qiu pay!

A glint of murderous intent flashed in Mu En’s eyes.

Gao Fei continued to persuade, “After Ye Qiu sells the jade, he’ll take the ten billion and live a life of luxury with Lin Jingzhi, the two of them reveling in endless pleasure.”

“Mr. Mu, do you want to see that happen?”

The murderous intent in Mu En’s eyes grew stronger.

Seeing that Mu En’s anger was ignited, Gao Fei decided to add more fuel to the fire, saying, “Mr. Mu, that woman Lin Jingzhi is the number one beauty in Jiangzhou’s business world. Her face, her figure, her elegance—Mr. Mu, you’ve seen it all, haven’t you? Isn’t she, like that red jade, a once-in-a-century treasure?”

“Since ancient times, beauties have been paired with heroes. I think that Ye Qiu is utterly unworthy of Lin Jingzhi. The only reason she’s smitten with him is because that lad must have fed her some kind of spellbinding nonsense.”

“Mr. Mu, if you take down Ye Qiu, not only will the red jade return to your hands, but Lin Jingzhi will be yours as well.”

“Mr. Mu, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Don’t let it slip away!”

Mu En pondered for a moment before saying, “Gao Fei, your plan isn’t bad.”

“In that case, I’ll seize the jade back tonight!”

“And you and Ma Dong will join the operation. If we fail to retrieve the jade, you’ll still have to compensate me!”

Finally, he’d convinced this stubborn fat man.

Gao Fei felt a surge of excitement. The chance for revenge was finally here.

Ye Qiu, your days are numbered!

Inside a guesthouse in Dali.

Lin Jingzhi said to Ye Qiu, “Darling, I think we should leave Dali as soon as possible.”

“Mu En is the local kingpin here. You broke his hands today, and he definitely won’t let it go.”

“Besides, we’re holding a top-grade red jade worth ten billion. Who knows how many people are eyeing it? It’s safer to return to Jiangzhou sooner.”

Ye Qiu thought Lin Jingzhi’s concerns were reasonable and said, “Lin, tomorrow morning, we’ll head back to Jiangzhou.”

Lin Jingzhi nodded, took two steps forward, and wrapped her delicate arms around Ye Qiu’s neck, cooing, “Darling, you were so impressive today. To think you managed to uncover a top-grade red jade worth ten billion from all that raw stone. I’m absolutely in awe of you.”

Ye Qiu smiled and asked, “How much in awe?”

“So much that I want to bite you.”

Lin Jingzhi emphasised one word heavily, and instantly, Ye Qiu caught her meaning.

Smack!

Ye Qiu gave a light tap on Lin Jingzhi’s waist and said, “Go take a shower. I’ll wait for you.”

“Come shower with me. I’ll scrub your back,” Lin Jingzhi said, her breath like orchids. “My back-scrubbing is different from others, you know. While others use their hands, I use…”

She paused suddenly, puffing out her chest.

Ye Qiu felt a jolt run through him. “Lin, you really know how to play.”

“This is nothing. There’s even more fun to be had. Come on, today I’ll let you experience something truly thrilling~”

Lin Jingzhi batted her watery eyes, sending a rush of wild heat coursing through Ye Qiu’s body.

Miracle Doctor Chapter 715

Ye Qiu was about to follow Lin Jingzhi into the bathroom to experience the “more fun” she mentioned when—

A faint sound of footsteps came from outside the door.

Though the sound was subtle, it didn’t escape Ye Qiu’s ears.

Someone was outside?

A flash of cold light passed through Ye Qiu’s eyes, and he immediately said, “Lin, you go shower first. I’ll keep an eye on this out here.”

Ye Qiu pointed at the suitcase on the floor, as the top-grade red jade was stored inside it.

Lin Jingzhi clung to Ye Qiu’s hand, pouting playfully, “No way, darling, come with me. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you feel *very* comfortable.”

Her eyes sparkled with charm, her expression alluring, and combined with her coquettish tone, the fire within Ye Qiu burned even hotter.

Still, Ye Qiu restrained himself and said, “Lin, this jade is my betrothal gift to marry you. If someone stole it, how could I marry you?”

Lin Jingzhi’s face was full of astonishment. “What? You’re planning to use this top-grade red jade as a betrothal gift to marry me?”

Ye Qiu nodded. “Yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking.”

“No, absolutely not,” Lin Jingzhi said. “This jade is far too valuable. Using it as a betrothal gift would be such a waste.”

Ye Qiu gently tapped Lin Jingzhi’s dainty nose and smiled. “As long as I can marry you, it’s not a waste at all.”

“Darling, you’re so good to me.”

*Mwah!*

Lin Jingzhi stood on her tiptoes and kissed Ye Qiu on the cheek.

After the kiss, she even flicked her tongue lightly across his chin.

This small gesture instantly ignited the fire within Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu cupped Lin Jingzhi’s face and kissed her passionately.

It lasted a full three minutes.

Only when they were nearly out of breath did they part.

Gasping for air, Lin Jingzhi said, “Darling, you must remember, don’t use this top-grade red jade as a betrothal gift.”

“According to our Jiangsu-Zhejiang customs, a betrothal gift can’t be taken back. That means once it’s given, this top-grade red jade will end up in my parents’ hands.”

“This jade is worth ten billion. It’d be such a pity to give it to someone else.”

Ye Qiu burst out laughing. “Lin, they’re not just ‘someone else’—they’re your parents.”

“No way,” Lin Jingzhi said. “Something worth ten billion? I’d feel heartbroken giving it to them.”

“As for the betrothal gift, you don’t need to give anything too valuable. A couple of packs of cigarettes and two bottles of wine will do.”

“If you think that’s too little, buy them a couple of outfits as well.”

Ye Qiu was dumbfounded. “That… that’s way too little, isn’t it?”

Lin Jingzhi shook her head. “Not at all. I’m already yours. Even if you don’t give a betrothal gift, I’ll still marry you. They can’t stop me.”

Ye Qiu was stunned.

Was this the legendary “a grown daughter can’t be kept at home”?

“Lin, it’s getting late. Go take your shower!”

“Okay, darling, wait for me~”

Lin Jingzhi threw Ye Qiu a flirtatious glance and slipped into the bathroom.

Afterwards, Ye Qiu quickly inspected the room. Places like guesthouses were notorious for being fitted with hidden cameras by shady characters.

Sure enough, Ye Qiu found two pinhole cameras in concealed corners.

*Crack!*

He crushed them with one squeeze.

Then, Ye Qiu placed the suitcase under the bed, opened the door, and stepped outside.

As he left the room, he noticed two young men in their twenties at the other end of the corridor, whispering to each other.

Ye Qiu pulled out a cigarette, put it in his mouth, and approached the two young men, smiling. “Mate, got a light?”

One of the young men took out a lighter and lit Ye Qiu’s cigarette.

Ye Qiu took a drag and then said, “Call Mr. Mu and tell him I’m willing to sell him the jade. We can negotiate the price.”

The two young men exchanged a glance, and one of them pulled out his phone from his pocket, about to make a call.

*Smack!*

Ye Qiu suddenly knocked the phone to the ground and crushed it underfoot.

“What are you doing?” the young man shouted.

Ye Qiu grinned. “So you *are* Mu En’s men. You’ve got some nerve tailing me. Looks like you need a lesson.”

*Slap! Slap!*

Ye Qiu delivered two swift slaps.

Instantly, the two young men were sent flying from the second-floor corridor to the ground floor, collapsing in pain.

“Go back and tell Mu En to stop playing these petty tricks. If he pisses me off, I’ll make him regret it.”

Ye Qiu snorted coldly and turned to head back to his room.

Just then, Qian Duoduo, who was staying in another room, opened his door and asked, “Cousin, what’s going on?”

“Mu En sent people to watch me, but I caught them,” Ye Qiu said, instructing, “Lin has already bought the tickets. We’re heading back to Jiangzhou tomorrow morning, and you’re coming with us.”

“Stay sharp tonight.”

“If anything seems off, sound the alarm immediately, got it?”

Qian Duoduo nodded. “Got it.”

“Rest early.”

Ye Qiu said, then returned to his room.

As he entered, he heard the sound of running water from the bathroom—Lin Jingzhi was still showering.

Whether intentionally or not, Lin Jingzhi hadn’t fully closed the bathroom door, leaving a small gap.

Through the misty haze, a graceful figure moved elegantly.

Ye Qiu sat on the sofa and watched for a while. The more he looked, the more his heart itched, as if hundreds of ants were crawling over it—an unbearably tantalising sensation.

Slowly, the fire within Ye Qiu flared up again, and his breathing grew rapid.

He stood up.

And walked toward the bathroom.

Just as he reached the bathroom door, with a *click*, the door opened, and Lin Jingzhi stepped out.

“What are you doing here?” Lin Jingzhi asked, surprised to see Ye Qiu at the bathroom door.

Ye Qiu felt a bit embarrassed and quickly said, “I… I was just checking if you needed shampoo or anything. I was going to bring it to you.”

“Really?” Lin Jingzhi, being as sharp as she was, wasn’t fooled by Ye Qiu’s flimsy excuse. She smiled playfully and said, “Darling, were you peeking at me?”

“No, no way… I’m a gentleman. How could I peek at you?” Ye Qiu’s cheeks flushed as he spoke.

“Oh, really?” Lin Jingzhi gave a charming smile.

Fresh from her shower, she was like a bamboo shoot after the rain, exuding a tender freshness. Her jet-black hair cascaded like a waterfall, loosely draped over her smooth, fair neck. Her already exquisite, beautiful face, now softened by the warmth of the hot water, carried a hint of alluring rosiness.

She was wrapped in a pristine white bath towel, her delicate collarbone exquisitely beautiful, and the curve of her chest was breathtakingly captivating.

Lin Jingzhi walked past Ye Qiu, leaving a trail of fragrance, then lay down. Her long, slender legs, as smooth as white jade, shimmered faintly under the light.

Lin Jingzhi suddenly asked, “Darling, there aren’t any cameras in this room, are there?”

Ye Qiu smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ve already taken care of them.”

“Good.”

Lin Jingzhi suddenly loosened her bath towel. Her captivating eyes sparkled with a seductive smile, and she beckoned Ye Qiu with a finger, cooing, “Darling, come here~”

Miracle Doctor Chapter 716

A beautiful woman is a treasure, but a woman like Lin Jingzhi—beautiful, alluring, and playful—is a treasure among treasures!

Ye Qiu had experienced her charm countless times, yet each time, Lin Jingzhi managed to give him a fresh sensation, leaving him insatiable.

(Three thousand words have been omitted here)

Forty minutes later.

An intense battle came to an end.

Lin Jingzhi lay in Ye Qiu’s arms, playfully whining, “Hubby, are you tired?”

“Not tired.”

Since acquiring innate qi, Ye Qiu’s stamina had surged dramatically. A fierce battle left him feeling no fatigue whatsoever.

“Then let’s continue, but I have one condition.”

“What condition?”

“This time, I want to be on top.” Lin Jingzhi flipped over, straddling Ye Qiu. “You’re not allowed to move. Let me take care of you.”

The charge had been sounded.

Ye Qiu closed his eyes, ready to enjoy Lin Jingzhi’s attentive service.

However, things didn’t go as planned.

At the critical moment, Qian Duoduo’s voice suddenly came from outside: “Cousin, Cousin, get up quick! Something’s happened!”

The two in the room froze mid-motion.

“What happened?” Ye Qiu asked in a deep voice.

“Mu En’s here, and he brought a lot of people,” Qian Duoduo said.

Damn it, he dares to show up? What’s he planning?

Courting death?

Ye Qiu was in the heat of the moment, and this interruption irritated him. He said, “Sister Lin, stay in the room and wait for me. I’ll go check it out.”

“Mm.” Lin Jingzhi nodded obediently, adding as Ye Qiu headed out, “Hubby, come back quick. Don’t make me wait too long, or the mood will be gone.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.” Ye Qiu strode out.

The next second, a glint of killing intent flashed in his eyes.

In the courtyard on the ground floor of the inn, over a hundred people were gathered.

Outside the inn, there were even more—five or six hundred at least.

Among them were many bruised and battered faces, whom Ye Qiu immediately recognised as the group he had beaten at the factory earlier that day.

Hundreds of people surrounded the inn, inside and out, creating a scene reminiscent of a gang showdown in a Hong Kong movie.

Ye Qiu’s gaze swept over the crowd and landed on Mu En.

Mu En stood at the centre, flanked by a group of followers, with Ma Dong, Gao Fei, and Mr. Yao by his side.

“Kid, we meet again!”

Mu En spoke first upon seeing Ye Qiu, his smile laced with coldness.

Ye Qiu stood on the second-floor corridor, hands behind his back, looking down at Mu En. He said calmly, “What are you here for?”

“What am I here for? Heh, Mr. Ye, you’re playing dumb!”

Mu En said, “I won’t make things difficult for you. Return that top-grade red jade to me, cut off both your hands as an apology, and I’ll let it slide.”

“Oh, and…”

Mu En’s tone shifted. “Hand over Lin Jingzhi, and I’ll spare your pathetic life.”

Ye Qiu laughed in anger. “Return the red jade, cut off my hands to apologise, and hand over my woman to you? Mr. Mu, has your brain been flooded?”

“Ye Qiu, watch how you speak!” Ma Dong shouted. “Uncle Mu sparing your life is already a great mercy. Don’t be ungrateful.”

Gao Fei chimed in, “Ye Qiu, I advise you to do exactly as Mr. Mu says, or you’re headed for a dead end.”

Mr. Yao barked, “Surname Ye, hand over the top-grade red jade to Mr. Mu now, or I’m not done with you.”

Ye Qiu smirked. “And if I don’t, what can you do to me?”

“If you don’t do as I say, don’t blame me for being ruthless.” Mu En shot Ma Dong a look.

Ma Dong pulled a gun from his pocket.

Clearly, they had come prepared, specifically to kill Ye Qiu.

Rumble—

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed from the sky.

It was ear-splitting.

The massive noise made everyone on the ground look up, spotting several black dots moving rapidly across the horizon. In just seconds, they appeared above the inn.

“Why are there so many planes?”

“Are you blind? Those aren’t planes—they’re fighter jets!”

“What? Fighter jets?”

“One, two, three, four… twenty!”

“My God, twenty fighter jets!”

“What are fighter jets doing here?”

The crowd on the ground panicked.

These people rarely even saw an armed helicopter, and now twenty fighter jets had appeared. How could they not be alarmed?

The twenty jets circled above the inn, showing no intention of leaving.

Ye Qiu also found it odd. Why had so many fighter jets shown up all of a sudden?

He noticed the words “Northern Border” printed on the jets.

These jets were from the Northern Border?

Wasn’t the Northern Border Xiao Jiu’s territory?

Ye Qiu’s mind raced with questions.

Mu En was visibly uneasy. “What’s going on? Why are there so many jets?”

Ma Dong, a spoiled rich kid, had never seen such a spectacle. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he asked Gao Fei, “What do we do now?”

Gao Fei quickly said, “Young Master Ma, Mr. Mu, no matter what these jets are here for, I think we need to take out Ye Qiu first.”

“That kid’s skills are too dangerous. If we don’t kill him now, he might come after us later.”

“Besides, the arrow’s already nocked—we have to fire. Everyone’s watching.”

“We’ve pulled out our weapons. If we don’t act now, we’ll be a laughingstock.”

Fearing hesitation from Mu En and Ma Dong, Gao Fei pressed, “Mr. Mu, only by killing Ye Qiu can you get the top-grade red jade and that woman, Lin Jingzhi.”

“Young Master Ma, if Mr. Mu doesn’t get the red jade back, you’ll have to compensate him ten billion. Can you afford that?”

These words steeled Mu En and Ma Dong’s resolve.

“Kill!”

They shouted in unison.

Almost simultaneously, Ma Dong raised his hand, aiming the gun at Ye Qiu.

At that moment, gunfire erupted from the jets.

Bang!

Bang!

Two bullets pierced the temples of Ma Dong and Mu En, killing them instantly.

Bang!

Another shot rang out, a bullet tearing through Gao Fei’s heart.

Seeing this, Mr. Yao turned to flee, but after just a few steps, a bullet struck his forehead, and his body crumpled to the ground.

“Everyone below, listen up! Drop your weapons immediately, put your hands on your heads, and squat, or you’ll be killed without mercy!”

A booming voice blared through a loudspeaker from the jets.

With Mu En and his key allies dead, his men were already in disarray and quickly complied.

Soon, one of the jets began to descend.

At about a dozen meters from the ground, a nimble figure rappelled down, landing in the inn’s courtyard.

Dressed in military gear, his face stern and strikingly handsome, he looked like the epitome of a reader’s ideal hero.

Tang Fei!

Ye Qiu was surprised. Leaping lightly, he landed in the courtyard and asked with a smile, “What are you doing here?”

Tang Fei said gravely, “Ye Qiu, come with me immediately.”

“The Northern Border is in crisis.”

“Champion Marquis Xiao Jiu’s life hangs in the balance!”

Miracle Doctor Chapter 717

Ye Qiu’s heart tightened.

The Northern Border was in crisis!

The Champion Marquis, Xiao Jiu, was missing, his fate unknown!

It was clear—something major had happened in the Northern Border!

“Old Tang, wait for me a moment. I need to say goodbye to Sister Lin.”

Ye Qiu quickly returned to the room. Upon entering, he found Lin Jingzhi already dressed, sitting on the sofa watching television.

“It’s too noisy outside, so I got up. Have you sorted everything out?” Lin Jingzhi asked again, “What’s with those fighter jets?”

Ye Qiu said apologetically, “Tang Fei’s here. There’s an urgent mission, and I have to go with him.”

Lin Jingzhi paused for a moment, then stood up and said, “I’ll help you pack your luggage.”

“No need.” Ye Qiu pulled Lin Jingzhi into an embrace and said softly, “Wait for me in Jiangzhou.”

Lin Jingzhi hugged Ye Qiu tightly and said, “Be careful.”

“Don’t worry!” Ye Qiu gave Lin Jingzhi a slight smile, let go of her, and turned to leave.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, Qian Duoduo blocked his path.

“Cousin, where are you off to?” Qian Duoduo asked.

“Don’t ask what you shouldn’t.”

Ye Qiu gave Qian Duoduo a stern look and said, “Tomorrow, you either go to Jiangzhou with Sister Lin or return to Suhang.”

“Don’t linger here.”

With that, Ye Qiu strode to the courtyard and said to Tang Fei, “I’m worried about Sister Lin’s safety after I leave…”

“You don’t need to worry about that. I’ve already made arrangements. Just wait a bit; they’ll be here soon.”

After Tang Fei spoke, about four or five minutes later, the roar of vehicles echoed at the entrance to the courtyard.

Then, a large group of heavily armed soldiers rushed in, swiftly surrounding the inn inside and out.

Half a minute later, a middle-aged man in a camouflage short-sleeve shirt, with thick eyebrows and large eyes, strode in.

“Commander Liu, long time no see.”

Tang Fei walked over, shook hands with the man, and said, “There was a riot here just now.”

“A few criminals opened fire on the warriors of the Underworld Palace, and I’ve already executed them on the spot.”

“Commander Liu, please take the rest of these people back. Interrogate those who need interrogating, judge those who need judging. Don’t wrong an innocent person, but don’t let a guilty one slip through.”

“Also, let me introduce you. This is my brother, Ye Qiu. He’s with the Underworld Palace, holding the rank of Colonel.”

Colonel!

At those words, a look of shock flashed in Commander Liu’s eyes as he glanced at Ye Qiu.

This Colonel was awfully young, wasn’t he?

Could Ye Qiu be an heir groomed by some prominent family in the capital? Otherwise, how could he have reached the rank of Colonel at such a young age?

In peacetime, promotions were notoriously difficult.

Just then, Tang Fei added, “Ye Qiu has fought in countless battles, earned numerous merits, and is a first-class national hero.”

This kid, a first-class hero?

Commander Liu’s expression changed instantly.

As the highest-ranking officer in the Dali Military Region, he knew all too well the kind of sacrifices required to earn the title of first-class hero.

Combined with Ye Qiu’s rank, Commander Liu realised he had underestimated Ye Qiu earlier.

This young man was far from ordinary.

Commander Liu couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. He had struggled for decades to reach the rank of Major General, yet Ye Qiu, barely in his twenties, was only one rank below him. Ye Qiu’s future was clearly boundless.

So, Commander Liu took the initiative to greet Ye Qiu, “Hello, I’m Liu Dong, Commander of the Dali Military Region. Pleased to meet you.”

Ye Qiu stood at attention, saluted Liu Dong, and said loudly, “Greetings, sir!”

Liu Dong smiled, “No need to be so formal.”

Tang Fei added, “Commander Liu, Ye Qiu’s girlfriend is staying at this inn. Please arrange for a few men to protect her and escort her back to Jiangzhou tomorrow.”

“Understood!” Commander Liu nodded, then pointed at the fighter jets overhead and whispered to Tang Fei, “Old Tang, what’s going on? What’s with all this commotion?”

Tang Fei replied apologetically, “Sorry, it’s top secret. I can’t say.”

“Fine, I won’t ask.”

“Commander Liu, we’ll leave this place in your hands. Ye Qiu and I will head off first.”

“Go ahead!”

With that, Tang Fei led Ye Qiu away.

An hour later, they arrived at the Northern Border.

As Ye Qiu stepped out of the fighter jet, a biting cold wind hit him. The temperature was at least minus twenty degrees Celsius.

The snow on the ground was two feet thick.

This was Ye Qiu’s first time setting foot in the Northern Border.

Looking around, the vast snow-capped mountains in the distance towered into the clouds, winding and stretching, their peaks raised like the tails of giant beasts under the moonlight.

At some point, Tang Fei had wrapped himself in a thick coat and handed Ye Qiu a military overcoat, saying, “Put it on. It’s freezing in the Northern Border.”

“No need. I’m not afraid of the cold,” Ye Qiu declined.

His innate true energy circulated endlessly within him, keeping him warm despite wearing only a short-sleeved shirt.

Tang Fei urged, “Put it on anyway. It’ll get even colder soon.”

“I’m fine,” Ye Qiu refused again, then asked, “What exactly happened? Why is Xiao Jiu…?”

Shh!

Tang Fei made a silencing gesture and said, “It’s top secret. We’ll talk later. Follow me.”

With that, Tang Fei led Ye Qiu to a military jeep.

The jeep drove about two kilometres before stopping in front of a large building.

Northern Border Military Region Headquarters!

As Ye Qiu got out of the vehicle, he immediately sensed dozens of powerful presences locking onto him.

Hidden sentries!

Ye Qiu scanned his surroundings.

Tang Fei made a gesture, and instantly, Ye Qiu felt the presences locking onto him vanish.

“Come with me!”

Tang Fei led Ye Qiu into the building.

Along the way, Ye Qiu noticed that the building was filled with hidden sentries—at least a few hundred of them.

The security level was unprecedentedly high.

Ye Qiu couldn’t help but find it strange. Why were the security measures here even stricter than those at the Underworld Palace?

Tang Stuart Little!

Tang Fei led Ye Qiu to the ninth-floor conference room.

At the entrance to the conference room stood two men with buzz cuts, dressed in black suits, both around their thirties.

Ye Qiu could tell at a glance that these men were bodyguards.

What surprised him was that these bodyguards were exceptionally strong, on par with Dragon List experts.

One of the men stopped Tang Fei and Ye Qiu, saying, “Sorry, gentlemen, please surrender your weapons, present your IDs, and allow us to conduct a search. Thank you for your cooperation.”

A body search?

Ye Qiu frowned slightly.

By then, Tang Fei had already handed over his sidearm and presented his ID.

Ye Qiu had no choice but to show his ID and take out the leather pouch containing his golden needles.

The two men carefully inspected their IDs, conducted a search, and then allowed Ye Qiu and Tang Fei to enter.

As Ye Qiu walked into the conference room, he saw two familiar faces.

The War God!

Ye Wudi!

The War God was seated in a wheelchair, and beside him sat an elderly man.

When Ye Qiu saw the elderly man’s face, he was stunned.

It was none other than the Supreme Leader, Old Tang!

Miracle Doctor Chapter 718

Ye Qiu was utterly shocked.

He hadn’t expected Old Tang to personally come to the Northern Border.

This alone indicated that the situation in the Northern Border was extremely grave.

Otherwise, both Old Tang and the War God would not be present here simultaneously.

These two were monumental figures. The appearance of even one would signal an earth-shattering event. Their joint presence today could only mean that the severity of the situation had exceeded Ye Qiu’s expectations.

Tang Fei announced loudly:

“Reporting, sir, Ye Qiu has been brought!”

Instantly, several pairs of eyes in the conference room turned sharply to Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu stood at attention, chest out, and saluted Old Tang and the War God.

“Greetings, sir!”

Old Tang’s gaze lingered on Ye Qiu for a moment before he smiled, “If I’m not mistaken, Ye Qiu, this should be our first meeting, correct?”

“You’re not mistaken, sir. This is my first time meeting you,” Ye Qiu replied respectfully.

Old Tang said, “I’m fully aware of your actions since joining the Underworld Palace. Well done!”

Those two simple words conveyed Old Tang’s approval of Ye Qiu.

“Sit!”

Old Tang gestured to the seat across the conference table.

“Thank you, sir.”

Ye Qiu quickly took his seat, glancing at the War God and Ye Wudi, nodding slightly in respect.

Ye Wudi smiled, keenly noting that Ye Qiu’s cultivation had advanced significantly since their last encounter.

“Sir, may we begin?” the War God asked.

Old Tang nodded, “Proceed.”

The War God gave Tang Fei a look. Tang Fei understood, walked to the door, and addressed the two bodyguards, “No one is to approach this room. If anyone tries to force their way in, shoot to kill.”

“Yes, sir!”

The bodyguards acknowledged the order.

Tang Fei then locked the conference room door and sat beside Ye Qiu.

The War God began, “Ye Qiu, I assume Tang Fei has briefed you on the Northern Border situation?”

Ye Qiu replied, “Tang Fei only told me that Champion Marquis Xiao Jiu’s fate is unknown. He didn’t provide specifics. Sir, what exactly happened?”

Instead of answering, the War God asked, “Ye Qiu, do you know how Xiao Jiu became the War God of the Northern Border?”

Ye Qiu shook his head, completely unaware of Xiao Jiu’s past.

The War God explained, “When Xiao Jiu first arrived in the Northern Border, he was just a lowly soldier. His rapid rise to Champion Marquis and commander of the Northern Border was due not only to his exceptional personal abilities but also a particular battle.”

“That battle paved the way for Xiao Jiu’s promotions.”

“That battle was the Battle of Beigu Pavilion!”

A look of reminiscence crossed the War God’s aged face as he continued:

“Beigu Pavilion lies at the westernmost edge of China’s Northern Border, bordering a neighbouring country. It was originally a village.”

“Years ago, the neighbouring country began repeatedly encroaching on Beigu Pavilion, later sending soldiers to occupy it forcibly.”

“How could our nation’s territory be violated? The Northern Border dispatched troops to expel the neighbouring country’s soldiers.”

“Intelligence indicated that the neighbouring country had only a platoon stationed at Beigu Pavilion. Out of caution, the Northern Border sent a reconnaissance company.”

“Xiao Jiu was serving in that reconnaissance company at the time.”

“But when they reached Beigu Pavilion, the expulsion failed. The enemy opened fire first, forcing the reconnaissance company to counterattack.”

“It was only then that the company discovered the neighbouring country had set an ambush at Beigu Pavilion, with an entire elite regiment deployed.”

“By then, their retreat was cut off, and the reconnaissance company was surrounded.”

“Beigu Pavilion had no signal, making it impossible to call for reinforcements. In this desperate situation, the reconnaissance company fought back, engaging in a life-and-death battle with the elite regiment.”

“That battle was a bloodbath.”

“That battle left bodies strewn across the field.”

“The fighting lasted a full three hours. The reconnaissance company’s soldiers were all killed, leaving only Xiao Jiu alive.”

“The neighbouring country’s elite regiment, however, was reduced to just fifty-three men by the reconnaissance company.”

“Xiao Jiu did not retreat. At the time, his strength was comparable to a Tiger List expert. Single-handedly, he took down the remaining fifty-three men of the elite regiment and planted our flag at Beigu Pavilion.”

“When the medical team arrived, Xiao Jiu was critically wounded, with seventeen bullet holes and eight knife wounds.”

“The Northern Border Military Region brought in the best medical experts to operate on Xiao Jiu. Everyone believed his injuries were too severe, and his chances of survival were near zero.”

“But against all odds, Xiao Jiu clung to life with sheer willpower.”

At this point, the War God paused, took a sip of water, and continued:

“The Battle of Beigu Pavilion was a devastating loss, but it showcased the fearless, sacrificial spirit of our nation’s soldiers.”

“‘The heroic spirit of heaven and earth remains awe-inspiring through the ages.’”

“The soldiers of the reconnaissance company, with their blood and lives, exemplified the loyalty, duty, courage, and dedication of Chinese soldiers. Their heroic essence shines as brightly as the sun and moon, their righteous spirit erecting a towering monument!”

“Every soldier from the reconnaissance company who perished was posthumously awarded first-class merit.”

“As for Xiao Jiu, who survived, he became renowned throughout the Northern Border and received commendations from the Northern Border’s top brass. In addition to a first-class merit medal, he was bestowed numerous honours.”

“At the time, I was overseeing military operations. Following Old Tang’s instructions, Xiao Jiu was awarded the ‘Hero of Border Defence’ title, and the heroic deeds of the reconnaissance company and Xiao Jiu were announced to the entire military as an example.”

“From then on, Xiao Jiu’s career soared.”

“In a short time, he rose from a mere soldier to the War God of the Northern Border.”

“Xiao Jiu’s martial prowess also surged during that period. At the age of twenty-five, he claimed the top spot on the Dragon List.”

“After reaching the top of the Dragon List, Xiao Jiu single-handedly infiltrated the enemy country and killed three of their top commanders, avenging the brothers who died at Beigu Pavilion.”

“Subsequently, Old Tang bestowed upon Xiao Jiu the title of Champion Marquis, tasking him with guarding the Northern Border.”

“For years, it was precisely because of Xiao Jiu’s presence that the neighbouring country dared not cross the line.”

“Xiao Jiu’s courage was unmatched, guarding the Northern Border like a god, earning him the title of War God of the Northern Border.”

Hearing this, Ye Qiu asked, “War God, how does this relate to Xiao Jiu’s unknown fate?”

“Let me explain,” the War God said. “Yesterday was the twenty-seventh day of the seventh lunar month.”

“That day holds special significance for Xiao Jiu.”

“The Battle of Beigu Pavilion took place on the twenty-seventh day of the seventh lunar month.”

“After Xiao Jiu was named Champion Marquis and stationed in the Northern Border, he had the ashes of the reconnaissance company’s soldiers relocated to Beigu Pavilion, where he built a martyrs’ cemetery called the Beigu Pavilion Martyrs’ Cemetery.”

“Every year on the twenty-seventh day of the seventh lunar month, Xiao Jiu would bring several cases of wine to pay respects to his fallen brothers.”

“Confident in his martial prowess, Xiao Jiu never took guards, only bringing two adjutants.”

“Yesterday, Xiao Jiu went to Beigu Pavilion to pay his respects, and something happened!”

Miracle Doctor Chapter 719

Ye Qiu’s eyes narrowed.

If Xiao Jiu was heading to Beigu Pavilion with two adjutants to pay respects, and Ye Qiu were his enemy, he would choose Beigu Pavilion as the place to ambush Xiao Jiu.

What puzzled Ye Qiu, however, was that Xiao Jiu was the top-ranked expert on the Dragon List. Ambushing him would be an enormous risk. Who would have the audacity to attempt it?

“Could it be that Xiao Jiu was ambushed?” Ye Qiu asked casually.

To his surprise, the War God nodded, “Correct. Xiao Jiu was indeed ambushed.”

Bloody hell, someone actually dared to make a move on Xiao Jiu!

Ye Qiu’s heart jolted, and he asked, “Who did it?”

“Experts from the neighbouring country,” the War God replied. “For the specifics, let Wei Lingxin explain.”

The War God immediately instructed Tang Fei, “Go fetch Wei Lingxin.”

“Yes, sir!” Tang Fei responded and quickly left the conference room.

Ye Qiu asked, puzzled, “Who’s Wei Lingxin?”

The War God explained, “Wei Lingxin is Xiao Jiu’s adjutant. He’s been with Xiao Jiu for years and has his deep trust.”

Three minutes later, the conference room door opened.

“Reporting, sir, Wei Lingxin has been brought,” Tang Fei announced, ushering in a middle-aged man in camouflage.

The man walked with steady steps, his strength considerable, comparable to a Dragon List expert.

“Wei Lingxin reporting to the commander!” the man saluted Old Tang and the War God.

“Wei Lingxin, let me introduce you. This is Ye Qiu, an ace member of our Underworld Palace,” the War God said, introducing Ye Qiu. “You were present when Xiao Jiu was ambushed. Tell Ye Qiu the details.”

“Yes, sir!” Wei Lingxin began immediately, “Yesterday, the Marquis went to the Beigu Pavilion Martyrs’ Cemetery to pay respects, accompanied by two adjutants—myself and Jiang Chao.”

“When we arrived at Beigu Pavilion, everything seemed fine.”

“Following the Marquis’s instructions, Jiang Chao and I unloaded several cases of wine from the vehicle and placed them in the cemetery. Then, we returned to the vehicle to wait for the Marquis.”

“Around four in the afternoon, a group of villagers appeared.”

“This raised suspicions for both Jiang Chao and me.”

“Ever since the Battle of Beigu Pavilion, the villagers living there were relocated. No villagers had been seen in the area for a long time.”

“For so many to suddenly appear…”

“Hold on,” Ye Qiu interrupted Wei Lingxin. “How many villagers are we talking about? Give me an exact number.”

Wei Lingxin replied, “About three to four hundred.”

Ye Qiu pressed, “They weren’t actually villagers, were they? They were assassins, correct?”

Wei Lingxin nodded, “Correct. They were highly trained assassins, extremely skilled.”

Ye Qiu asked further, “More skilled than you?”

Wei Lingxin glanced at Ye Qiu, surprised, wondering how he knew the extent of his abilities. Still, he answered truthfully, “At least fifty of those assassins were as skilled as I am.”

Ye Qiu’s heart sank.

Wei Lingxin’s skills were on par with a Dragon List expert. If fifty such experts were attacking Xiao Jiu, the Marquis was in serious trouble.

Wei Lingxin continued, “Jiang Chao and I realised something was off with the villagers. Jiang Chao got out of the vehicle to question them.”

“But as soon as he stepped out, he was attacked and killed on the spot.”

“Seeing the situation deteriorate, I immediately started the vehicle and sounded the horn to warn the Marquis.”

“However, the assassins ignored me and rushed straight into the cemetery to kill the Marquis.”

“But they were no match for him. The Marquis’s martial skills are exceptional. He fought his way out of the cemetery and was about to reach the vehicle when the assassins, realising they couldn’t stop him, began destroying the cemetery.”

“The cemetery houses the remains of the Marquis’s brothers. Seeing this, the Marquis was consumed with rage. He turned back to fight them and ordered me to return for reinforcements.”

“I rushed back and led a regiment to Beigu Pavilion. When we arrived, we found only the bodies of the assassins. The Marquis was nowhere to be seen.”

“This was a grave matter, so I didn’t dare keep it to myself and immediately called the War God.”

At this point, Wei Lingxin’s eyes welled with tears. He looked at Old Tang and pleaded, “Sir, please save the Marquis. I beg you.”

With a thud, Wei Lingxin dropped to his knees.

“Wei Lingxin, stand up!” Old Tang said. “Xiao Jiu is a vital asset to the nation. I won’t stand idly by.”

“Thank you, sir,” Wei Lingxin said, rising to his feet.

The War God asked, “Wei Lingxin, aside from you, does anyone else in the Northern Border military know about Xiao Jiu’s situation?”

Wei Lingxin shook his head, “Only I know.”

“The soldiers of the Northern Border are fiercely loyal to the Marquis. If they learned something had happened to him, they wouldn’t sit still.”

“I feared this could destabilise the Northern Border, so I didn’t tell anyone in the military.”

The War God nodded approvingly, “You did well. This is a critical matter. For the stability of the Northern Border, you must keep this confidential. At least until we find Xiao Jiu, not a word of this can leak.”

“Yes, sir!” Wei Lingxin responded loudly.

“Adjutant Wei, if I may ask, where do you think the Marquis might be right now?” Ye Qiu interjected.

Wei Lingxin glanced at Old Tang and the War God, hesitated, then said, “I suspect the Marquis has entered the neighbouring country’s territory.”

“Beigu Pavilion is at the border of our two countries. Ten miles north lies enemy territory.”

“When I led my men in pursuit northward, we found numerous assassin bodies along the way.”

“Without orders from above, I didn’t dare lead troops into the neighbouring country’s territory, so I stopped the pursuit.”

Ye Qiu’s expression grew solemn. He asked, “Old Tang, you called me here to rescue Xiao Jiu?”

Old Tang nodded, “Correct.”

“Xiao Jiu may currently be in the neighbouring country’s territory, surrounded by danger. We can’t act on a large scale; the rescue must be discreet.”

“The War God recommended you.”

“Ye Qiu, you’ve always performed admirably. I hope you won’t disappoint me this time.”

Old Tang said gravely, “Xiao Jiu, as Champion Marquis and guardian of the Northern Border, is a loyal servant of the nation. He must not come to harm.”

“This time, you must find him and bring him back to the Northern Border.”

“And if—if something has happened to him… you must bring him back, do you understand?”

Ye Qiu understood.

Old Tang meant that whether Xiao Jiu was alive or dead, he had to be brought back.

“Rest assured, sir, I’ll do my utmost,” Ye Qiu said, then asked, “Sir, will I have support for this mission?”

“Yes,” the War God answered. “Tang Fei will lead a special operations team from the Underworld Palace to assist you.”

Ye Qiu thought for a moment and said, “The assassins are numerous and highly skilled. They dared to ambush the Champion Marquis, so they must have something up their sleeve.”

“Plus, we’re going deep into the neighbouring country’s territory. This mission is too dangerous. I won’t take Tang Fei and the others.”

“Old Tang, I’d like to borrow someone from you.”

Old Tang asked, “Who do you want to borrow?”

“Ye Wudi!”

Old Tang was somewhat surprised.

He hadn’t expected Ye Qiu to request Ye Wudi.

Ye Qiu explained, “Ye Wudi is an exceptional expert. This mission to rescue Xiao Jiu is highly dangerous, and I’d like to request his assistance.”

In front of Old Tang, Ye Qiu refrained from mentioning that Ye Wudi was his third uncle.

“Very well,” Old Tang agreed immediately, instructing Ye Wudi, “You will assist Ye Qiu in rescuing Xiao Jiu. For this mission, Ye Qiu is in charge, and you will support him.”

“Yes, sir!” Ye Wudi responded loudly.

Old Tang then asked, “Ye Qiu, do you have any other requests?”

Ye Qiu shook his head, “None.”

Old Tang said, “Ye Qiu, you understand Xiao Jiu’s importance to the Northern Border.”

“You must bring him back.”

“There’s no time to waste. Begin the operation!”

At Old Tang’s command, Ye Qiu and Ye Wudi prepared to move.

“Tang Fei, Adjutant Wei, escort Ye Qiu to the border,” the War God ordered, then added kindly, “Ye Qiu, Wudi, be extremely careful on this mission.”

“Understood.”

Ye Qiu and Ye Wudi acknowledged and headed out of the conference room.

Just then, the War God began coughing violently, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Ye Qiu paused and asked urgently, “Sir, what’s wrong?”

The War God replied, “Just a minor health issue recently. It’s nothing.”

“Sir, let me take a look!” Ye Qiu said, stepping toward the War God.

“No need!” The War God raised a hand to stop him, saying, “Rescuing Xiao Jiu is the priority. The Northern Border cannot descend into chaos. If I, an old man, delay this critical matter, my fault would be grave.”

Ye Qiu thought for a moment and said, “Then I’ll treat you when I return.”

“Alright.” A smile appeared on the War God’s face.

Ye Qiu and the others quickly left the conference room.

Three in the morning.

Snow fell heavily.

Beigu Pavilion, Martyrs’ Cemetery.

A military jeep slowly stopped at the cemetery’s entrance.

Ye Qiu and Ye Wudi got out, scanning the area. They saw several hundred soldiers stationed at the entrance, fully armed, standing ready under bright lights.

“Since yesterday’s incident, I’ve had the cemetery sealed off,” Wei Lingxin said.

“Let’s go inside,” Ye Qiu said, striding toward the cemetery.

Ye Wudi, Tang Fei, and Wei Lingxin followed.

Stepping through the gate, they were greeted by a wide bluestone staircase flanked by tall, straight pines and cypresses, standing like towering soldiers guarding the sacred cemetery.

But now, the steps were stained with blood.

At the top of the staircase lay a plaza, where a massive white marble relief stood, depicting nearly a hundred faces, each with distinct expressions.

“These are the reconnaissance company soldiers who died in the Battle of Beigu Pavilion,” Wei Lingxin explained.

Even without his words, Ye Qiu could have guessed.

Beside the relief stood a stone stele, inscribed with a couplet at the top:

“Green mountains and clear waters forever hold their noble spirit; verdant pines and cypresses console their heroic souls.”

In the bottom left corner, smaller text read:

“Erected by Xiao Jiu in tears, on the twenty-seventh day of the seventh lunar month.”

Wei Lingxin elaborated, “After the Marquis was named Champion Marquis and took command of the Northern Border, he had his brothers’ remains interred here. This stele was personally erected by him.”

“There are nearly a hundred gravestones behind, all set up by the Marquis as well.”

Hearing this, Ye Qiu moved to the back of the plaza, where his eyes flared with anger.

Nearly half of the hundred gravestones had been destroyed.

“Was this done by the assassins?” Ye Qiu asked.

“Yes,” Wei Lingxin confirmed. “It was because the assassins damaged the gravestones that the Marquis, in a fit of rage, turned back to fight them.”

Ye Wudi said angrily, “No wonder Xiao Jiu was furious. If someone desecrated my brothers’ graves, I wouldn’t let them off either.”

Ye Qiu asked, “Where are the assassins’ bodies?”

His primary reason for coming was to examine them.

“Over there. Follow me,” Wei Lingxin said, leading them to the side of the cemetery.

Several tents stood there, guarded by soldiers.

“The assassins’ bodies are inside,” Wei Lingxin said, entering the first tent.

The others followed.

Ye Qiu was startled upon entering. At least sixty or seventy bodies were laid out inside.

He exchanged a glance with Ye Wudi, and they began inspecting the corpses.

Five minutes later, they stopped.

“Most of these were killed with a single strike,” Ye Wudi observed.

Ye Qiu said with concern, “I noticed some of these assassins had calloused hands, clearly experts with firearms. Even the weakest among them was comparable to a special forces king.”

“As Adjutant Wei said, many were as skilled as Dragon List experts.”

“For Xiao Jiu to face so many elite assassins, even as the top-ranked Dragon List expert, he might not have held up.”

Ye Wudi said gravely, “So the most urgent task now is to find Xiao Jiu.”

Ye Qiu nodded and said to Wei Lingxin, “Take us to the border.”

“Alright.”

They left the cemetery and drove ten miles to the border.

“We’re here,” Wei Lingxin said, stopping the vehicle.

Ye Qiu looked ahead at the towering, snow-covered mountains stretching endlessly.

“This is as far as I can take you,” Wei Lingxin said.

“Go back. We’ll handle the rest,” Ye Qiu said, getting out with Ye Wudi.

Wei Lingxin and Tang Fei followed.

“Be careful. The border line is ahead, and the neighbouring country has troops stationed there,” Wei Lingxin warned.

“Got it,” Ye Qiu replied, turning to proceed.

“Wait—” Wei Lingxin called out, then bowed deeply to Ye Qiu and Ye Wudi. “The Marquis is in your hands.”

“We’ll do our utmost,” Ye Qiu assured him.

Tang Fei pulled Ye Qiu aside and whispered, “The War God asked me to pass on a few words.”

“He said those who dared to ambush Xiao Jiu must be well-prepared. You must be extremely cautious on this mission.”

“He also specifically told me to tell you to do your best to rescue Xiao Jiu.”

“But if necessary, you can abandon Xiao Jiu to preserve your own life.”

Ye Qiu nodded, “Understood. By the way, Old Tang, what’s going on with the War God’s health?”

Tang Fei replied, “I’m not entirely sure, but lately, he’s been coughing up blood frequently. I’ve urged him several times to get a hospital check-up, but he refuses.”

Ye Qiu said, “Take care of him. I’ll treat him when I return.”

“Alright. Be careful.”

“Mm.”

Ye Qiu gave a nod, then strode forward with Ye Wudi. Soon, their figures vanished into the snowstorm.
